Hurricane Irma and Maria have exposed the critical need for effective tools that can help eliminate or mitigate the problems faced by victims of such storms. At this event, you'll be challenged to design and prototype technology solutions, datasets, and tools that help many people during times of need.

You may be an expert coder already and just eager to showcase your skills! Either way, you're invited to participate in Flatiron School's SoFlo Learn Codeathon -- a 2-3 hour mini hackathon, where you'll be challenged to build out a small application using an API. The "Launch a Startup in a Day" Hackathon merges both technology and entrepreneurship training for students. Students will learn how to pitch, model, and convert their ideas into a businesses, in addition to learning the basics of code. At the end of the event, each student team will put their skills to the test in a Shark Tank-style competition for Cash Prizes!
Ages: 12-18

Code Miami Fever is a STEM non-profit education organization with a mission to inspire underserved minority students between the ages of 13 to 21 to code, build and create technology enterprises within their communities.
