Ready to make a change in your community?

Seattle GiveCamp is a hackathon for good where tech volunteers create software for nonprofit organizations in the Seattle area. The software solutions will likely include web sites, desktop apps, databases, or other pieces of software that need to be coded, designed, updated, or configured. We anticipate creating solutions for about 10-15 needy nonprofits this year.  We will have a need for programmers, web developers, graphic designers, database admins, and project managers. You do not have to have to be an expert to be a tech volunteer. Of course, if you are an expert in one or more disciplines, that's fantastic. All you really need is some technical experience/education and a desire to help. Seattle GiveCamp is asking technical volunteers to pay a $20 fee to secure a place at this year's GiveCamp. In return, we will provide a place to code/design/create, lots of free food & drink, networking opportunities, a snazzy t-shirt, and a surprise gift or two. (Non-tech support volunteers will not have to pay the fee.) In case you are wondering, the $20 fee will be distributed to the nonprofits that we will be helping at the event since our sponsors will be covering the cost of the event itself. Schedule Friday, Oct 18, 6pm-11pm (we will be serving dinner) Saturday, Oct 19, 8am-11pm (we will serving breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks) Sunday, Oct 20, 8am-6pm (we will be serving breakast, lunch, and snacks) Note: Unlike some past years, we will be ending at 11pm on Friday and Saturday. Please join us for Electric Sky 2019, our fifth annual art and tech weekend retreat bringing together artists, technologists, designers, hackers, makers and friends to collaboratively engage with the environment in new and exciting ways.    Electric Sky is a cross between an artists' retreat and a hackathon, where you'll spend several days in the woods, on the river, in our maker space, creating stuff with people like you. Open Source Hackathon meetups provide an opportunity to work with others on Open Source Projects. For new contributors, there will be seasoned contributors and projects maintainers available during the meetup to help direct you through the process. All contributions, from code to graphic design and documentation are welcome. If you’ve always wanted to get involved in Open Source or work on projects with other developers in the community this is a great way to start! Free and open to all skill levels and experience.
