Join MilSpouse Coders at 1701 in Virginia Beach, or join us online for our first hackathon. Military life is challenging for everyone involved, but particularly for the families coping with frequent change and uncertainty. From obstacles to maintaining or starting careers, finding support, relocation issues, and finding new social and support networks, families deal with a lot. This hackathon aims at finding technical solutions to alleviate some of the challenges families face during the course of a service member's career in the armed services. Bonus: We're introducing military spouses to the possibilities of finding amazing careers in tech. No matter your experience level, we encourage you to join us. Find a team or make your own, and come code, design, test, or QA a project you think the military community needs. Don't know what to work on? We'll have projects ready to go! Already working on a project at home? Bring it, and let's see what you can do with it during a mad dash day of hacking. We welcome anyone affiliated with the military and any civilian who's ever wanted to do more than buy a yellow ribbon magnet to show their support of the military. However, to facilitate our goal of introducing military family members to the amazing world of tech, each team must have at least one military-affiliated individual aboard.
