Hackathon is a grand gathering of people to create ideas that come to life. Think out of the box, try new technologies, ask questions, make mistakes, discover a new language, and have fun!  We provide students with a real life business challenge that allows them to find insights through data analytics. Wayfair will be providing case details and data for teams to use; details will be shared with mentors in advance of the competition. Last year, Wayfair provided us with a Supply Chain Analytics challenge to recommend the number of warehouses to add, where to add them, and the profile of items each will store and fulfill. The Judges for Babson Hackathon 2019 will include CXOs and Directors from Wayfair and CVS Health. So, come together with your classmates for the opporunity to create or program your own solution. There will be prizes, food, workshops, and more! Form a team of 4 students ahead of time or ask us to match you to a team. Additional details regarding logistics etc. will be provided at a later date. Each student team will be assigned a mentor from BCG, Broadcom, CVS Health, Cleartelligence, FTI Consulting, Harvard Business Publishing, Oxford Global Resources and survey.com. Having coding skills is not a pre-requisite and everyone from different academic backgrounds and skill sets are welcome. Why participate? Compete, build, test and launch your implementable case to the world and/or UMass campus. Work together in teams full of talent (an interdisciplinary mix of different backgrounds and skillsets). Level up your skills: get coaching and workshops. Join the Sustainability Projects Abroad (SPA) Team and grow your network: you’ll make unexpected new friendships. It’s a big plus on your resume when applying for a job. Doing extra things in addition to your daily school work is becoming more important for organizations. Sustainathon is a launchpad for bringing ideas into the real-world. Potentially see your idea funded! Want to be on the same team with a friend(s) or have questions?
