Join the people creating and redefining the future of travel Do you remember the last time you booked a plane ticket with a travel agent? We didn't think so. In a world of rapid technological innovation, business in the travel and hospitality sector is accelerating at rapid speed. Technology is an integral part of today's travel experience, from booking to electronic boarding passes, digital concierge services to interactive city guides at a destination, virtual reality tours to drone photography new technology is continuing to reshape the way we move around, stay and play. Brands are constantly looking to deliver a great digital experience to customers across all digital platforms. After all, in the age of omnichannel marketing, smart content usage will separate the front runners from those lagging behind in the race to engage potential consumers.  Who should attend? Startups: If you are developing products or services that have the potential to transform the travel industry this is an opportunity you can’t afford to miss! Gain access to industry experts including airlines, hotel operators, cruise ship lines, banks, card networks, and more. Travel Industry Leaders: If you are an executive in hospitality, tourism, travel, travel tech etc this is your opportunity to connect with a vibrant network of travel technology startups, find the next product that could differentiate you from the competition and provide the perfect setting for you to connect with other industry leaders in the travel sector. Format We kick the weekend off with the first Miami Travel Hackathon. Hackathon participants have 24 hours to tackle complex challenges presented by travel industry leaders. On Monday we will start the day with presentations from our hackers before diving into informative talks from industry experts, presentations from pre-selected travel startups and one-on-one meetings with leaders in the travel sector. The 4 teams (hackathon + pre selected) with the most innovative products/ services win the chance to present on the main stage of 2 major travel industry events.

The challenge of the IoT and AI Hackathon is to re-imagine the retail and consumer payments expereince by building on MATRIX Creators and integrating Visa APIs. Each group will receive a kit with two (2) of the following items: MATRIX Creator Raspberry Pi 3 Raspberry Pi Camera V2 32GB Micro SD Card 5V 2.5A Power Supply Staff from Visa and MATRIX Labs will be present throughout the day for answering questions. They will also lead morning and afternoon training sessions on how to work with the Visa API and the MATRIX Creator. The judging sheet will be released closer to the date of the hackathon. The six (6) highest rated groups will move on to round two. Round Two: Judges will perform a code inspection prior to the final judging which will count towards the groups score. At the final judging the groups will present their projects in front of the panel of judges and all the attendees of the hackathon. The judges will then deliberate and announce the winners. Prizes 1st Place: $5,000 2nd Place: $3,000 3rd Place: $2,000 *Prizes will be awarded to the group to be split between its individual members as the group sees fit. Registration Information As a participant, you can register for the IoT and AI Hackathon as an individual, group, or company group! Individuals Don’t have a group or company group? No problem! You can signup as an individual and make your own group with other individuals or join a group or company group that has space. If you can not find a group we will be making a Slack team for the Hackathon where you will be able to discuss and team up with people who are also not in a group. Although prompted, you do not need to use your company information to register as an individual. Groups To create a group you need a minimum of two (2) members and no more than five (5) members can form a group for the hackathon. You can join a group by Registering using the "Group" ticket, creating a new group, creating a new password, and inviting up to four (4) additional members to the group Joining a group via an invitation from a member Joining a group by searching for a group name Company Groups To create a company group you need a minimum of two (2) employees and no more than five (5) employees of a single company can form a group for the hackathon. Civic-minded hackers in the Fort Lauderdale area! Covalence Academy and General Provision invite you to participate in the Civic Hackathon for Hurricane Relief. Hurricane Irma and Maria have exposed the critical need for effective tools that can help eliminate or mitigate the problems faced by victims of such storms. At this event, you'll be challenged to design and prototype technology solutions, datasets, and tools that help many people during times of need.

Coders in South Florida! You may be a newbie working on Flatiron's free introductory courses, or be part of their Full Stack Web Development Program. You may be an expert coder already and just eager to showcase your skills! Either way, you're invited to participate in Flatiron School's SoFlo Learn Codeathon -- a 2-3 hour mini hackathon, where you'll be challenged to build out a small application using an API. Come and participate -- collaborate and network with the SoFlo techie community!

Join us on Thursday, Aug 10th 2017 SouthWest Regional Library for our Launch a Startup in a Day Hackathon presented by Code Fever Miami. The "Launch a Startup in a Day" Hackathon merges both technology and entrepreneurship training for students. Students will learn how to pitch, model, and convert their ideas into a businesses, in addition to learning the basics of code. At the end of the event, each student team will put their skills to the test in a Shark Tank-style competition for Cash Prizes! Ages: 12-18 Registration: Free  Lunch will be provided. Kids aged 10-18 in the Greater Miami Area! If you're a budding techie entrepreneur -- or want to be one -- then Code Fever Miami invites you to sign up to participate in their Launch A Start Up In A Day Hackathon. This event merges both technology and entrepreneurship training for attendees. You'll learn the basics of coding and also how to pitch, model, and convert your project ideas into businesses. At the end of the event, your team will compete with the other participating teams in a Shark Tank-style competition for cash prizes!

Registration As a participant, you can register for the eMerge Americas Hackathon as part of a Company Team or as a Free Agent. Company Teams Groups of minimum of two (2) employees and up to five (5) current employees of a single company can form a team for the hackathon. You can join a Company Team by Registering using the "Company" ticket, creating a new group, creating a new password, and inviting up to four (4) additional coworkers to the group Joining a group via an invitation from a coworker Joining a group by searching for a Company Team name All group members must use their company emails in order to register for a Company Team. Free Agents Don’t have a company team? No problem! You can signup as a Free Agent and make your own team with other Free Agents or join a company team that has space. To become an eligible Free Agent, first sign up on the Eventbrite. We’ll email you a fun Coding Challenge so we can better assess your skill level and assign you to the right team. There are three levels of the Coding Challenge, so complete what you can, and don’t worry if you can’t answer all of the questions. We want to make the competition as fair as possible so we will match your skills with a team that will compliment you. There are limited Free Agent spots available so be sure to complete your Coding Challenge as soon as possible. Once completed we will be selecting Free Agents for the competition and you will receive an invite if you are accepted.
