Houston Inventors is proud to present the PowerUp Houston Hackathon this year at the Mini Maker Faire. The theme will be sustainability to further our efforts as a society in conserving energy and water. Both hardware and software projects are allowed, and the venue will provide access to Rapid Prototyping equipment like 3D printers. Participation is limited to highschool and college students only.

Please come join Aggie Agora for Aggie Agora Hackathon: US Elections—a day-long team problem-solving event. This strictly non-partisan event is in support of the University's Strengthening Democracy Initiative and is intended to facilitate public discourse and civic engagement on the A&M campus and throughout the state of Texas.​​​​​

You'll collaborate wth like-minded individuals to conceive technology solutions to improve legal justice processes for: »Low-income individuals who need legal support. »Legal Aid offices that aim to provide free legal help. »Legal Advocates who aim to find new ways to support these communities.

If you want to participate in the development of this exciting new technology then join Hackster.io and Amazon Alexa workshop, where guest speaker Memo Doring will be speaking before an afternoon of hacking. Lunch and Dinner will be provided, as well as surprise prizes to be provided by amazon. In addition, submitting 3 Alexa skills within 30 days of the event will score you a new Amazon Tap!

Interested in the US Constitution? Come and participate in the Constitution Day Hackathon: Amending the Constitution. Participants will work in teams to propose amendments to the US Constitution. Teams will make a presentation at the end of the day that describes the problem that the amendment will solve and argues for how and why their proposed amendment will solve the problem. Prizes will be awarded for the best proposals.

All women in technology—from astronauts to designers to biohackers to makers to everyone in between—collaborate to share ideas, support each other and grow the tech community. For this second edition of The Hacker Society Hackathon for Women in Tech: Houston (WIT:H), the goal is to finish the website and related project ideas for the group, meeting new folks and talking about other ways to get involved. All levels and areas of expertise—and genders—welcome!
