Are you interested in entertainment and love to code? Do you have an idea for an app that will disrupt the way we experience, consume or create content? Then join us on July 8th and 9th for this year's AT&T SHAPE Hackathon in Los Angeles. This years event will bring together developers, designers, and creators to hack innovative and disruptive entertainment solutions. You bring the innovative ideas and designs and we'll bring the tech to help you transform them into apps in just 24 hours. Please be sure to join the event slack HERE for announcements, team formation and challenge support. You Bring... Your laptop, skills & ideas. Come with a collaborative, team-focused mindset and/or team-up in advance on Twitter/Facebook/Google+ with #atthack. Whether you are a developer, designer, project manager, or just interested in tech, you are invited to attend this event. Every group needs a good balance of talent and your skills are needed! This event will not feature an onsite team formation component so it's highly suggest you arrive with a team to work. We Supply... Quick presentations and code samples that help kick start your hacking, food to keep you going, and caffeine to keep you awake. We will have technical mentors to assist you in building faster, smarter, and with new tools. Content Discovery Experience 1st Place - $5,000 in cash for the team Best Use of IBM Watson 1st Place - $5,000 in cash for the team Best Next Generation Advertising Solution 1st Place - $2,500 in cash for the team Best Use of 2nd Screen Technology 1st Place - $2,500 in cash for the team Best Use of Robotis The first forty (40) participants that hack Robotis technology as part of their solution will receive a Ollobot PLAY700 ($89.95 MSRP) Best Use of the Oculus Rift 1st Place - Three (3) Oculus Rift Devices and three (3) Oculus Rift Handcontrollers Judging Process 1st Round All apps undergo an initial screening where judges will be visiting your teams science fair style and evaluating your solution based on the criteria listed in the judging criteria section. 2nd Round On Sunday, the top ten teams get the chance to pitch their apps on-stage as our panel of expert judges evaluates them. Final Round* The top 3 teams will be invited to join us to present their application on Saturday, July 15th as one of the exhibits at the AT&T SHAPE TECH & ENTERTAINMENT EXPO. The overall winner will then be determined by a combination of conference guest voting and a panel of expert judges. *The top three (3) teams are required to attend AT&T SHAPE on July 15 in to present their solution and participate in the final round of judging.           Bring holograms to life by participating in HoloHack Los Angeles!  Microsoft has partnered with VRLA, Unity, AfterNow, and Upload LA to bring you a 48 hour experience, where you'll form teams with other experienced AR/VR/MR engineers, designers and artists to create your own mixed reality app. Yummy food, HoloLens dev kits, pre loaded laptops and experts from Microsoft and Unity will be all be available, on site.  Attendees should have previous experience developing for AR/VR/MR and/or with Unity.
