The #MentalHealthHackathon wants you to use open data to identify new opportunities to strengthen mental health awareness and suicide prevention in the U.S. The White House Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP) and U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) are organizing a series of suicide prevention hackathons in five different cities across the United States: Boston, Chicago, New York, San Francisco, and Washington.. The Obama Administration places a top priority on science and data as tools for solving complex challenges including public health, mental health, and suicide prevention. The hackathon will bring together data scientists, innovators, designers, and next-generation technologists with subject matter experts in suicide prevention. All are united for one common purpose - to prevent suicide!

              Internet of Elephants - Hackathon for Wildlife

              Calling all Developers, Designers, UX Experts, Game Designers, Entrepreneurs and Wildlife Conservationists! Join us to explore and develop innovative ways to engage worldwide audiences with wild animals through a combination of technologies that include GPS hardware, data, games, and social media.  The objective is to create a stronger, more vested connection between people and animals that directly influences consumer attitudes and behavior in a way that has a positive impact on wildlife populations worldwide. More details coming soon on the agenda, prizes, and format for the event, but it is sure to be fun, challenging, and most of all have a meaningful outcome.

We want to see your coolest ideas for a mobile app! It's that simple.  We will be providing food, activities, space, and everything else you need to have a great time while producing the best you can! You can find rules on our website www.mobiHACK.mobi Where? IIT Galvin Library 35 W. 33rd St. Chicago, IL 60616 The library is full of space! There's areas to collaborate and brainstorm, areas to hide away, and areas to sleep. Galvin library has plenty of comfortable and collaborative spaces. We have the run of the place all night! Participants will be allowed to enter and exit the building as needed. We will have campus security guarding the event. When? The event starts 7pm Friday November 13th 2015 and ends around 1pm Saturday November 14th. You can find the event schedule on the website www.mobiHACK.mobi Who? Anyone is welcome to participate. Any current student or alumni status reguardless of age, sexual orientation, gender identity, race, religion, or origin. Why?
