Come to the first-ever hands-on ISSA website hackathon. We are partnering with SecurityInnovation to provide an immersive hands-on hacking experience for our ISSA symposium. Compete against your fellow ISSA Portland members in a contest of hacking skills in a fun environment. This event will provide value for everyone from a non-coder with zero hacking experience to a seasoned penetration tester. There are challenges for all skill levels and interest built into the game and we will have expert help on hand to help anyone who wants it. We will provide some initial training, lunch and the vulnerable infrastructure for you to test your skills against. Developers, designers, Internet of Things hackers in the Portland area! Showcase your IoT hacking skills to help your city become more sustainable! Come and collaborate with like-minded individuals at the IoT Hackathon 2016, sponsored by Women Who Code Portland. You'll work in teams of 3 - 5 women and men to create innovative ways to preserve energy and prevent wasteful consumption in the home and/or at work.

ProtoHack want to provide non-coders with the tools, knowledge and connections to bring their idea to life with the creation of a real prototype. No coding will be required. At the end, you or your team will present your prototype on stage to a panel of judges to get feedback.

A 2-day hackathon for improving downtown liveability in the most creative way possible. Team up with digital creatives, community organizers, and civic leaders to tackle challenges such as the Eugene tech community promotional video, creating the First Friday ArtWalk mobile app, the Eugene 2021 digital arts installation, the After-school computer science program website, and the increasing downtown safety mobile app to win cash prizes be part of a good cause!

A Hack the Dot is a 2-hour hackathon where coding school students, junior developers, experienced developers, marketers, designers and curious web people come together to build ideas around a domain name. The events is meant to be a quick and fun way to build a humorous (and functional) product quickly, while meeting people in your tech/startup community.

The Global Game Jam (GGJ) is one of the world's largest hackathon on game development. Come and explore the global creative gaming atmosphere, while taking part in the process of development, including programming, iterative design, narrative exploration and artistic expression. Don't worry if you don't know how to program, creative idea makers are also very crucial on the process of game development. Also if you are an experienced game player you can take a stab at testing the design.

The Lundquist Center of Entrepreneurship at University of Oregon will be hosting the gaming hackathon QuackHack (http://www.quackhack.io/). During QuackHack we will be hosting a Super Smash Bros. On this weekend will include hacking video games from EdTech to E-sports, the gamification of industries, Internet of Things, board games, recreational games, etc. Meet and work with amazing people from around the US, build cool stuff to put on your portfolio, network with tech firms, and enjoy  free food and fun!
