Apple is planning to ship a brand new Apple TV at the end of October. The new Apple TV will feature the first ever Apple TV App Store and we want to help you be in the first round of apps on the new App Store. The Apple TV Hackathon will be at Capital Factory on November 22. It will include a getting started session for anyone that hasn’t made a TV app yet as well as some of the new Apple TVs set up for use by attendees. You'll be able to join a team to build something together. At the end of the day we'll allow each team to present what they've built to the whole group. The LHCF, Center for Healthy Communities, is excited to kick-off its official healthcare hackathon, cultivateHEALTH. It's a collaboration of social and technical innovators, scheduled for Oct. 17th and 18th at IBM. The blueprint for healthcare is overdue for a re-design, join us to revolutionize it. Our goal is to enhance the user experience, improve population health, and reduce healthcare costs.  Join us to solve issues individuals battle each day in the healthcare space. We need everyday super heroes, including social advocates, healthcare experts, passionate innovators/designers, and technical masterminds to join our cause. We have partnered with multiple organizations that are revolutionizing and pushing for change, including IBM, City of Austin, University of Texas at Austin Dell Medical School, Sendero Health Plans, Clinical Pathology Laboratories, BlueHub Health, Community representatives and the St. David's Foundation. Personal stories for the hackathon revolve around various obstacles taken from families and individuals within our community. THESE stories are the food that will feed your creativity and overall passion to fundamentally transform healthcare issues. Each project will be available on our site to help each innovator decide what issue they'd like to advocate for and develop solutions to address specific needs and pain points. A group of local superheroes, including community healthcare workers and health care experts, will be available to provide their expertise and overall experience in the subject matter. Shape the proto-team: proto members talk about potential soltions (quasi-brainstorm) - chip in to help shape the solution and identify the skills needed to get the job done. Assign parts, divide and conquer - Start building a part of your idea that expresses a unqie value: "What would you do tomorrow if you won... 10:00am - IBM Bluemix workshop   12pm Lunch Speaker: Dr Joshua Rosenthal - Value Creation in Health Josh walks the audience/participants through the evolution of an idea to a value proposition giving specific context to why healthcare is so hard and different, but also to why digital health tools can become an incredible way to change how we all experience health. Activity: Mad-lib Your Way to a Health Offer Josh and hackathon facilitators walks proto-teams through the Mad-lib excercise. Proto-teams are asked to reconsider the skills they will need to realize their offer. Final Team Formation: Selecting for Action Each Porto-Team shares out their Mad-libs (2-3 mins) to the whole congregation. Audience is asked to keep track of teams they would want to work for (if not their current) and Proto-Teams are asked to consider new skills they’ll need to get something quickly made to turn the corner and make their idea real. Participants are asked to commit to a team that aligns with their interest and skillset. Pulsate the LED, change the intensity. vibration motor - for a more discrete form of feedback use the vibrator.   Sensors: Temperature - On the surface of the device. Useful for environment and skin temperature.  Microphone - Measure sound pressure levels, and even stream audio for voice commands. Accelerometer - Measure acceleration in all 3 axis. (Motion Tracking, Gesture Recognition, ++) Gyrometer - Measure rotation in all 3 axis (Motion Tracking, Gesture Recognition, ++) Magnetometer - Measure magnetism in all 3 axis. Use it as a compass!
