You don't have to be an expert coder -- everyone is welcome regardless of your level of technical knowledge. Come and hack on your own project idea -- ideally one that entails open data or civic hacking projects. Collaborate and compete for prizes for »Best UI/UX, »Most social impact, »Most technical, »Most learned (obstacles overcome).

TICKETS COVER BOTH DAYS.  DESIGN THINKING FOR SOCIAL IMPACT Though it might seem like a relatively new concept and buzzword, Design Thinking has been around for quite some time. It's now the moment to see how it can be used to generate solutions and prototypes addressing the world's biggest challenges. This two-part workshop done in collaboration with IBM Design is in preparation of the Global Goals Jam Austin, which will take place on 21-22 September. The Global Goals Jam is a hackathon-type event that will take place simultaneously in more than 60 cities across the world. This year, the Global Goals Jam will focus on generations solutions for 5 of the 17 Global Goals:Goal 1: No PovertyGoal 2: Good Health and Well-BeingGoal 5: Gender EqualityGoal 7: Clean and Affordable EnergyGoal 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities You could use this workshop to think deeper about what these 5 goals mean for our community and what solutions could be further developed. Hackers in and around the City of Austin, Texas! Do you have an awesome idea as to how blockchain technology can be used to help improve the services provided to the homelessness in Austin? The Office of Mayor Steve Adler, the City of Austin Office of Innovation, and Dell Medical School invite you to participate in The Mayor's Blockchain Challenge. You'll be challenged to imagine and prototype an innovative blockchain solution that can store and maintain important documents and transactions that make up a person's identity. Your solution will respond to use cases that cover bulk document uploads, notation of assets that are verified in real life, smart contracts, opt-in/consent process, private blockchain, and non-transferable assets.

Coders, designers, and entrepreneurs in and around Austin, Texas! AngelHack invites you to sign up to participate in the AngelHack Austin Hackathon 2018. Compete on your own, or collaborate as a member of a team to come up with an idea and turn it into a functioning prototype. This year’s theme is Seamless Technology. You're not limited! The winning team will be decided by a jury comprised of industry experts as well as professionals at Factom. What are the presentations like?You will have 5 minutes to pitch to a panel of judges followed by a five minute Q&A. You'll be provided with A/V support, a microphone, and a projector.
