Talk #1. Security of IoT Data: Implementing Data-Centric Security and User Access Strategy by Prasad Mujumdar, Software Engineer at BlueTalon
This session will articulate how a data-centric security approach unifies all security policies around the data, for full visibility and better control. Prasad Mujumdar from BlueTalon will provide a checklist to help you implement the best possible data security and user access control strategy. He will also describe how the BlueTalon security solution can be used in the context of the Predix platform to control and keep visibility over data access.

A Weekend Hands-on Workshop
360/VR is blowing up! This 3-day event with hands-on training provides essential skills for producing 360/VR video. *We have very limited spots*
PRE-PRODUCTION
Introduction to Storytelling
For our first workshop, we will explore various aspects of 360/VR storytelling including scripting, perspective, interactivity, working with actors, spatialized sound, and storyboarding.
Producing 360/VR
Brief information on budgeting, location scouting, permits, and scheduling. We will teach the importance how to properly prepare to create a professional looking project.
PRODUCTION
A hands-on overview of various 360/VR equipment. This includes a basic introduction to building 360 worlds with cameras, sound recording and tripods/rigs.
Shooting/Prototyping your 360/VR Film
You’ve planned you 360 cinematic short. Now, you’ll divide roles within your film team, check equipment and create a narrative experience working with our Showdown actors.
POST-PRODUCTION
Putting it all together. Please bring your laptops *See requirements below*
360/VR filmmaking post-production where we will teach such as editing, plug-ins, sound design to create a new cinematic VR piece. We will include a very brief overview of stitching, (*please note we will not be doing actual stitching due to time constraints).
Publishing and distributing your new 360 piece.
It's time for a 360 cinematic VR Premiere! Enjoy viewing the piece with our group, while we offer constructive feedback/helpful tips for your future 360/VR projects.

Friday, February 3rd: 6:00 P.M - 9:00 P.M
Saturday, February 4th: 10:00 A.M - 6:00 P.M
Sunday, February 5th: 10:30 A.M - 4:30 P.M
Requirements
VR production equipment is provided during the workshop.
All participants must bring their own WIFI-ready laptop for use during this workshop. You must upgrade your operating system to the latest version before attending the course so there are no issues.
You will need to sign up for a free 7-day trial of Adobe Creative Cloud (Premiere) for use during the course.
Bring an external hard drive to store your video files if you have that. Not a problem if you do not.
INSTRUCTORS:
Don Alvarez
Don creates software for artists and filmmakers, most recently as co-founder of the leading VR/360 film planning and pitching app http://FilmmakerLive.com. Before launching Filmmaker Live to help filmmakers share their vision, Don was Technical Art Director for Microsoft's Halo 4 game studio and wrote software for many films including Walt Disney's animated film Dinosaur. Don holds a Ph.D. in Physics from Princeton University, undergraduate degrees from MIT, and convinced two people to stand naked, outside, at the South Pole (-40F) for photos.
Nathalie Mathe
Nathalie is an experienced VR creative who worked on more than thirty cinematic Virtual Reality projects. She contributed to Zero Point, the first VR documentary presented at Sundance New Frontier 2015. As Jaunt’s Director of Creative Technology, Nathalie supervised the post-production of many 360 stereo videos, including “Paul McCartney in concert”, “North Face Climbers”, and “North Face Nepal”. She was one of the few women creating visuals effects on Fast & Furious 6, Skyfall and Dark Knight Rises. Nathalie now runs NativeVR in which she co-created and produced Uturn, a VR series celebrating gender diversity in the tech industry.
She is an active member of Women in VR and a Film 360/VR instructor in the Academy of Arts University. She holds a PhD in Computer Science and an M.A in New Media.
Sherrie “Shero” Robertson
Sherrie is the founder of Blaze VR. Past clients in traditional film include Red Bull, Body Mints, Fuel Television (Fox), First Hawaiian Bank, Ma Cher, and Triple Crown of Surfing. She was recently invited to show “My Name is Te” virtual reality doc at "VR on the Mountain" during Sundance. Shero has also won several awards for her Virtual Reality storytelling/producing work including “Best in Show” at the SF VR hackathon and “Best Design” Google’s Project Tango hackathon. Dramatic feature script, Juke Box Hero, is a two-time Sundance Feature Film Lab finalist currently in post-production. She also produced/directed action sports surf movies that were picked up for U.S and international distribution.
