Come join herScript for a chance to create an app using MIT's App Inventor, and learn what it takes to complete the app development process from idea to deployment in just one day! You will be competing against other teams to create the best app for the hackathon's theme, which will be revealed on the day of the event. Different prizes will be rewarded for each of the three categories. Each team will be partnered with a mentor from the club, and will be coached throughout the entire process. All equipment, such as laptops and testing phones, will be provided for you.

    Hack for Homelessness is a hackathon to help contribute to solving homelessness! Aside from giving a few dollars from time to town it is hard to know how to help homelessness. In Silicon Valley, the place where there’s an app everything, they have work to do when it comes to addressing their neighbor’s basic human needs. Join the Homeless Hackathon together with unhoused individuals, developers, designers, marketers, and problem-solvers from across the technology and nonprofit sectors to design solutions to homelessness.     Def Hacks() is hackathon hosted by high school students, and is only for high school students. A 24-hour hackathon that will aim to help students discover and learn something new, with workshops and mentors. The two themes for this hackathon are related to finding an issue in your community and making something to help combat the problem. It can either be for preventing bullying and/or stress at school or building something to make your city more efficient and intelligent. So come work on innovative projects which have the potential to improve or influence people’s lives. Try to build a hack that people can use, enjoy, and potentially scale. Bring your laptop, mouse, and any snacks that you prefer. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner is included during the event. If you're planning on sleeping, bring a sleeping bag, pillow, and toothbrush.

In fact, there will be beginner coding workshops alongside the event so everyone leaves having learned a new skill and contributing to a project! The judging panel is made up of industry influencers, educators, hackathon pros and civic leaders.
