Developers and designers from the military, academia, and industry! Are you interested in wearable technologies for use in austere environments such as remote medical facilities, conflict zones, and emergency/disaster response? MD5 -- the Department of Defense's National Security Technology Accelerator -- and Sofwerx invite you to participate in MD5: Hacking the Human Element -- a 3-day event that focuses on wearables and their applications. Collaborate to design and build an innovative application and present it to a panel of judges for a chance to win recognition and up to $15K to further develop your project.

The second annual #SRQHacks Hackathon will expose and equip 13-18 year old students with the skills and knowledge to pursue potential careers within the Computer Science and Business fields. Students connect with mentors from the Technology, Design and Business industries to brainstorm, build and pitch a mobile app that addresses a community issue like mental health, homelessness, safety, youth engagement and more.

Designers, programmers, game engine and UX/UI experts, designers, and other techies in the Tampa Bay area! Do you want to help combat the Zika virus? Code for Tampa Bay invites you to sign up to participate in -- a community-powered civic hackathon to write apps which to help the Hillsborough County Public Works Mosquito Control District fight mosquitoes through education, data collection, and analysis. You'll get to address one of the following challenges: Mosquito Education Computer Game, Digital Inspector (reduce county staff time spent on service calls), Spray Truck Router, or Zone Picker (select daily spray zones based on relevant data).

Hack Hospitality is a weekend long deep dive into the problems that some of the leading companies in the Hospitality industry are trying to solve. Our hackathon will bring together the best builders and problem solvers in the Tampa Bay technology community to create real solutions for challenges presented by select companies in the Hospitality industry.
Every participant will receive 7 meals throughout the weekend, caffeine, alcohol, swag, a t-shirt, and has a chance to bring home the $3,000 cash prize brought to you by our event sponsor, Sourcetoad.
This will be the last hackathon to happen at The Iron Yard Tampa Bay so let's send them out with a bang!

Friday – August 25th:Hackathon begins and teams finalize. Partners detail their challenges. Teams start building.Saturday – August 26th: Teams work on solutions and company partners are available to answer questions.Sunday – August 27th: Teams finish their projects and pitch solutions to the judges. Winners are chosen. Afterparty!
This event places a heavy focus on building functional solutions so developers, designers, and non-technical people with experience in hospitality or technology are encouraged to attend. These tickets operate on the honor system. If you buy a developer or designer type and your team finds out that you have no technical skills you may be asked to leave the team and potentially the event. If you're interested in learning development or participating in a less technical event the organizers will be happy to point you in the right direction.

Operation Startup (OPSU)*, in partnership with Hillsborough County, Hillsborough Community College, SOFWERX, Entrepreneur Collaborative Center, Code for Tampa Bay Brigade, and The Iron Yard, presents BizSprint, an event to bring Military Veteran Entrepreneurs** together with Business Development Teams (BDT)*** will work together to further develop their Veteran Owned Businesses. BizSprint is a hybrid Hackathon/Startup Weekend that will begin with pitches by Vetrepreneurs** to BDTs. Vetrepreneurs will follow two tracks: those whose pitches are selected will begin working with the BDT; those not selected will be provided with mentorship, training and resources to refine their pitches and business design.

1) Word! Help spread the word about Operation Startup and the BizSprint which are designed to support Veterans and their families after they have served our Nation. Nearly one in four active duty service members and Veterans want to open and operate their own business. Opportunity, freedom, and solving problems attract them to the challenge of entrepreneurship.
2) Sponsor! We are looking for sponsors to support our aspiring Vetrepreneurs. Let’s help our Veterans and their family secure economic success post military service through entrepreneurship!
3) Participate! Have you struggled to find a way to give back to our Nation’s Heroes other than a monetary donation to a non-profit? This is a great opportunity to get to know our Veteran community and network with like-minded Entrepreneurs! Manufacturing firm Jabil Circuit, Inc. invites you to participate in the Jabil Hackathon 2017 "ChatBots Assisting in the Manufacturing World". You'll be challenged to design and create chatbots for use in the manufacturing sector. Your chatbots will act like a knowledge base, or intelligent assistant for factory and shop floor operators.
