            We are pleased to announce that IMSA’s 3rd annual Social Innovation Hackathon is underway! Our partner this year, the California Civic Data Coalition (CCDC), will provide real-world challenges with public data. It’s time to take that jumbled, dirty, ugly data and turn it into something beautiful through technology! The organizing committee is working closely with the CCDC to curate a set of well-defined challenge statements to make public data easier to access and analyze, and the impact that a 24-hour event can have.                     The HACkcelerator The HACKcelerator is a 12-week pre-accelerator program designed to help top teams explore and refine their ideas to build their hackathon winning prototype into a fully fledged startup. Teams are accepted by winning large hackathons (like AngelHack), where they’ve shown extraordinary abilities to build fast, collaborate with others, inspire a crowd, and persevere through stressful conditions. After the 12 weeks, the winning teams are invited to fly out to San Francisco to participate in a week of extensive pitch training and additional hands on mentorship. The teams are then ready to pitch in front of 100+ investors at the culminating event of the program – Global Demo Day.
