You don't have to be a coder and you don't have to use a computer -- any technology can be applied!

AR hackers in the Seattle area! Ratio and Globant invite you to sign up for the Hack the Now & Next: ARKit Edition hackathon. You'll be challenged to design and prototype an innovative augmented reality app for iPhone and iPad using Apple’s new ARKit framework.

AUTHENTIC invites you to sign up to participate in the UNITED WE STAND: Design Swarms Workshop. You'll be matched with others with complementary skills and lead through the Design Swarms technique. You'll then collaborate with your team to propose innovative solutions to this seemingly unsolvable social challenge.

This July, extraSlice is taking the lead in promoting women's’ opportunities in tech fields by hosting a 3-Day Hackathon for women and girls. Participants should start thinking of their ideas now; we’ll hear 60 second pitches from the first 30 participants. We will take the top 10 ideas, and divide the groups in to 10 teams, to execute each idea.  Participants will use technology to create a solution to a common problem from any industry, from shopping and retail, parking, use in volunteer programs, and more.  Each of the 10 teams will select a woman to lead, but we welcome and encourage men and boys to participate as well! As a partner at Microsoft, Andrew led infrastructure efforts in both long range planning and internal CDN development.   Andrew graduated with a B.S. from Harvey Mudd and an M.S. in Electrical Engineering from UCLA. He moved to the Pacific Northwest from Los Angeles in 2012 to experience seasons, more time with his family and an opportunity to walk to work.
