Detroit Civic Hackathon: March Edition
10 Mar - 06:00 PM
Detroit, United States
We're a group of urban / city advocates with a focus on the intersection of social justice, technology, and making cities better and more equitable... We have data scientists, software engineers, UX / UI people, students, advocates, and all are people passionate about cities, especially especially Detroit. The goal for our hackathons is to partner individuals with city agencies and local non-profits to hack on particularly acute problems that they are facing. This will be our fourth hack-a-thon - cool ideas from last month involved helping DoIT update the city zoning ordinance, thinking through how the US Census can best deploy their resources, especially when trying to count underrepresented populations, thinking through a framework to use city council minutes as a novel source of 'open data', and many more - join us, won't you?
