Use tech to save lives! Join us at the Call for Code Hackathon at Powered Labs
28 Aug - 06:00 PM
Tampa, United States
Powered Labs is proud to host an official 2018 Call for Code Day at our headquarters in Tampa, Florida. Created by David Clark Cause, Call for Code is in partnership with IBM to rally together developers to meet, brainstorm, and create technological solutions for real-world problems. As a 2018 Program Supporter of the Global Initiative, Powered Labs invites our tech partners in the Tampa Bay community to come to volunteer their time on Sept 28th for the greater good. We will break into small teams to work together on application ideas that could be deployed using AI, Blockchain, Cloud services, and other tech tools provided by IBM, to save lives, mitigate the loss of property, manage displaced resources, and other devastating effects of natural disasters. Teams have until the 28th of Sept to submit their app ideas to IBM. Selected winners will receive notable prizes, including cash, tickets to the prize Gala in San Francisco, and others. For full information, visit www.callforcode.org  Snacks and light refreshments will be provided. Spots are limited, so register today! Commit to the Cause. Push for Change. Answer the Call. Developers have revolutionized the way people live and interact with virtually everyone and everything. Where most people see challenges, developers see possibilities. That’s why David Clark Cause is launching Call for Code alongside Founding Partner IBM. This multi-year global initiative is a rallying cry to developers to use their skills and mastery of the latest technologies, and to create new ones, to drive positive and long-lasting change across the world with their code. The inaugural Call for Code Challenge theme is Natural Disaster Preparedness and Relief.   FAQs   Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?
