If you're interested in how technology can be used to counter the threat of the coronavirus, then the Starfish Community invites you to help fund the Hack Covid-19 virtual hackathon -- covering the cost of prizes, event production, and event organization. At Hack Covid-19, participants will be asked to tackle an urgent challenge such as: - How to ensure access to medical equipment, - How to manage symptoms/diagnosis, - Supplies/outbreak visualization, or - Reducing the impact of social isolation in communities.

Global Young Leaders Program empowers middle and high school students to become “Next Generation Leaders”, through entrepreneurship and innovation. Join us for our three-hour STEM workshop where students will use MESH™ Internet of Things (IoT) that automates home features in an environmentally sustainable way. Students design solutions based on their personal experience, create prototypes using the MESH ™ Internet of Things (IoT), and finally pitch as a team.   Date: Saturday, March 21, 2020  Time: 10:00am-1:00pm  Location: Fujitsu Sunnyvale Campus 1240 E Arques Ave, H Building, Sunnyvale, CA 94087 This workshop is programmed to provide students with an awareness of challenges in people’s lives and how design could be used to solve a problem through new products and/or systems. This is also a selection process for the candidates of the Global Young Leaders Program (Program for youth leaders) at “The Global Summit” held in Tokyo in the summer of 2020. Techies in Silicon Valley! Are you interested in the intersection of technology and the environment? Are you passionate about stopping deforestation, or tackling climate change, or perhaps you're interested in bringing nature into urban environments? If so, you're invited to participate in the Environmental Hackathon - Silicon Valley hosted by AWS and NVIDIA. You'll be challenged to build, train, optimize, and deploy a machine learning model to an edge device that can accurately detect anomalies. Your project can address your choice of environmental issue, such as: - Soil and Land Pollution, - Loss of Biodiversity, - Agricultural Pollution, - Climate Change, or - Deforestation. A panel of expert judges will score participants' projects based onaccuracy, simplicity, and design/visualization. Come collaborate and compete for great cash prizes.

HackMentalHealth is excited to present its third annual Bay Area mental health hackathon + conference (new!) in Spring 2020.

  Cupertino is a 13-hour overnight high-school hackathon organized by the Cupertino Teen Commission and Cupertino's Recreation Department. During our opening ceremony, we will present a problem in which teams or individuals will work together to create an app, software, or website which will address the topic. Please note that this even this is a lock-in, if you leave the premises at any point in the evening you will not be allowed back in. What makes this hackathon unique (besides prizes, of course!)? Winning teams will have the opportunity to present their projects to the Cupertino City Council during a live, televised meeting for maximum exposure of their success.  Teams will also receive a formal commendation from the Cupertino City Council.
