FAQs
Is there a minimum age requirement?
Yes. Participants must be at least 18 years of age or older.
What does it cost to be a hacker?
Though the hacker application is free, those who are accepted will be charged $15 before the event. However, students who bring their college ID on the day of the event will have their fee waived.
If I register, does that mean I'm automatically going to the hackathon?
No, we will review applications and notify hackers of their acceptance on May 18th, 2017.
What if I'm not very experienced in programming?
You don’t need to be! This is not a traditional hackathon. We will have healthcare professionals, engineers, and programmers (to name a few). The idea is that you work with other professionals to come up with cross-disciplinary solutions. At registration, each ‘expert’ will have a designated sticker so that you can easily find other individuals you may want on your team from other disciplines.
Do I need to stay for the entire time?
Hackers are REQUIRED to attend the opening kick-off on June 12th. After this date, hacking can be done at any time or place. TMCx will be open for teams to meet throughout the two-week period. We understand many hackers have full-time jobs and other responsibilities, so we encourage teams to use multiple forms of communication (in-person, Skype, FaceTime, WhatsApp, email, etc.) to work together. We assume many of you will come to the opening day and return home to work remotely and encourage you to apply if you live in another city, state, or nation!
