Hack & Tell #5
17 Oct - 09:00 AM
Milwaukee, United States
Hack & Tell is a hackathon that is actually a hackathon. There is no need for business models, customer validation, or extravagant pitches. The purpose of this hackathon is to hang out and team up with other developers and designers for the sake of making something. There will be time at the end of the event where you are free to show and tell everyone about the awesome thing that you built. You can build something for yourself or build something for other people. You can build something useful or build somethign not useful at all. The choice is all yours. All we want is for you to take this time and build something you've always wanted to build. You didn't even need to have any ideas of your own. There will be plenty of developers and ideas floating around that you can hack with. So are you going to come make cool things with us? Join other developers and designers for 9 hours of fun on Saturday, October 17th starting at 9am.

What is a Climate Game Jam? Teams gather to rapidly prototype game designs (online, mobile, street, tabletop, or other formats) to teach kids--and lifelong learners--about meaningful responses and solutions to climate change. Participants have roughly 30 hours to create a working climate game prototype. The Jam offers a unique opportunity for educators, students, scientists, game designers, and anyone else who is interested, to work together on climate game prototypes that span a range of platforms, topics, and audiences. Who can participate? Although having computer skills is helpful, coding and direct game design experience are not necessary. Game designers, developers, and artists are welcome to contribute to games and learn more about climate change and resilience. Even if you have no experience at all, you can still contribute ideas, play-test, and give moral support to your team. FAQs What are the hours of the game hackathon? Friday 10/2: 6 pm - 10:30 pm Saturday 10/3: 9 am - 10:30 pm Are there ID requirements or an age limit to enter the event? Not at all! All ages are welcome to climate hack!   What are my transport/parking options getting to the event? Street and lot parking is available near the event. Metro transportation is also a great alternative and biking is eco friendly.   What can/can't I bring to the event? We encourage you to bring a friend and any gear you need to hack up your favorite climate changing idea.   Where can I contact the organizer with any questions? Any questions regarding the event can be sent to nate@stemhero.org
