Random Hacks of Kindness is a hackathon for social good that brings together volunteer developers and tech-savvy do-gooders to work with charities, community groups and social enterprises.
Random Hacks of Kindness (RHoK) Ottawa is part of a global movement that organizes hackathons that bring together problem solvers, creative thinkers, and technologists for a weekend to bring technology solutions to challenges faced by charities, not-for-profits, and civic organizations. Over the course of a weekend, teams of volunteers bring their creative, technical, and problem-solving know-how to tackle and solve several of these challenges.

Hackers - Register here to be a part of Hacking For Humanity 2018. Join us over 2.5 days as we hack away towards a solution for the homeless.
Calling all developers, product managers, designers, UXers, sales and marketing professionals!
Be a part of this year's Hacking For Humanity: Hack the Home, a hackathon presented by Girls in Tech Australia to be held in October. This year's focus will be on the charities that help the homeless.
This hack aims to solve some issues for charities focused on homelessness using technology. Whether it is coming up with a new marketing or communications strategy or creating an app to engage with a diverse audience, hackers have the opportunity to choose from a broad spectrum of business problems.
The problems will be pitched to you during the Pre-Hack (October 5) when you will also form teams - bring your girl gang and help drive innovation in these charities.
Following that, the teams of hackers will invent, problem-solve and prototype for two days over a weekend (October 13 & 14).
Join the brightest minds and help make a difference. Oh, and we're doing it for love... Gratis! It's on us!

Come and experience an event of a lifetime at the RBS #BankOfAPIs Hackathon! Spend 48 intense hours collaborating in a team of coders, designers, entrepreneurs and business people to create a working prototype to showcase. Come with a cool idea and watch it come to life within a short span of time.
Themes & Challenges?
The brief is to deliver innovative solutions around themes of financial services to enable ‘open banking’. This will lead to improved levels of service by enriching the banks capability with a whole range of targeted niche solutions in addition to broader personal financial management capability.
Specific areas that we are interested in for this event are Every Day Banking, Short Term Lending, Home Buying and Ownership
Let’s get started!
Come and pitch your idea to the crowd to invite team members. Or join a team whose idea you want to work on. Spend two days building a working prototype and a solid pitch to support it. Finally, present to senior business leaders in Banking and Technology to stand a chance to win super cool prizes.

There will be on-ground support. Engineers will help you with technical queries and mentors will guide you towards the perfect pitch. RBS’s Hackathon API sandbox ‘BlueBank’ will also be available for you to integrate with and test what your app can do with real world bank data.
In the end, a great couple of days will be had with food, drinks, ideas, and all the works. The only requirement is to come with a lot of bright ideas and enthusiasm!

Need another excuse for a Monday night drink? We had so much fun last month, we decided to do it again! And we're so pumped for our next guest, because it's not every day you get a chance to chat with the co-founder of the first and only student-run VC fund in Israel.
Meet Nitzan Adler
From musicals to diplomacy, from startup events to quality foods, Nitzan is a serial creator, passionate supporter of Israel's startup ecosystem, and proud to be Jerusalem born and raised.
After Nitzan's army service in the sabotage troops of the Nahal Brigade he began his entreprenurial journey, founding GOODSHABES and SIMPLY SINGING. He then joined Atid EDI, the official regional trade and investment representative office for the US states of Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Pennsylvania.
Today, Nitzan is the CEO of Siftech. Founded in 2012, Siftech is a bottom-up initiative of the Hebrew University Student's Union with a vision of turning Jerusalem into a lively hub of innovative and creative entrepreneurship. Siftech established the first startup accelerator program in the city, and helped initiate countless of familiar events including CreativeMornings, FuckupNights, HujiHackathon and many more.
During his tenure at Siftech, Nitzan also co-founded fresh.fund, the first and only student run VC fund in Israel. fresh.fund invests in student-run and other promising early-stage companies and tech ventures on campuses and beyond, and the fund invests pre-seed money and supports additional raises through its venture network.
Nitzan holds a B.A in Business Management and Middle Eastern Studies from The Hebrew University. He is a father to 2 beautiful girls and and is married to one beautiful women.

Animer l’écosystème d’innovation numérique et de dynamiser le secteur du numérique en organisant un Hackathon au profit des jeunes gabonais disposant d’idées de développement d’applications mobiles.
Cet appel a également l’objectif d’identifier et de mettre en valeur les talents Gabonais et ce par :
- L’identification des jeunes talents qui maitrisent la technologie et qui sont capables de développer le contenu local
- L’identification et le développement de nouvelles solutions au profit du citoyen avec un focus sur les services sanitaires.
L’identification des opportunités de projets à intégrer dans l’incubateur national du numérique
Le Hackathon est ouvert aux jeunes gabonais-es résidants à Libreville qu’ils ou elles soient porteurs de projet, innovateurs, étudiant-es, élèves-ingénieurs, jeunes développeurs web/mobile, professionnels de la santé, etc.
