The Social Innovation Challenge, which is being held by Kaiser Permanente, will consist of both individuals and teams competing to create an app to improve health and well being in Baltimore City. Cash and tech prizes will be offered, as well as access to a specially tailored incubation program for the winners to bring their ideas into existence.

Developers, designers, students, civic leaders and creative thinkers! Sign up for the National Urban League's Hackathon for Social Justice at TechConnect. Collaborate to create solutions to Save Our Cities and compete for cash prizes! Your app/software solution will be implemented by the National Urban League to enhance civic engagement, voting, education pipeline, housing, health, justice and job creation in urban communities.

Come and see the exciting outcomes from April's Abilities Hackathon, when participants from that event showcase what they have made towards making products that address problems that those with impacted abilities face! Expect to see some exciting ideas that enable the Baltimore community to solve and address problems that those with disabilities face.  Participants will present their work in one of the following four tracks: (1) Transportation/Mobility; (2) Wearables; (3) Leisure/Entertainment; and (4) Open Software/Hardware. Two teams will be rewarded a grand total of $6,000 thanks to the Mayor's Office of Information Technology.

Digital Harbor presents the Abilities Hackathon, a collaborative effort to engage the tech community in solving the needs of people with impacted abilities

The DC and Baltimore Perlmongers invite you to join us for a workshop at the University of Baltimore in Baltimore, MD, on Saturday, April 16, 2016, followed by a hackathon on Sunday, April 17, 2016! The workshop will have two tracks of speakers, discussing innovative, exciting, and fun real-world usage of Perl. The hackathon will be more free-form project time, though we may have some organized hands-on activities for those interested.

The Baseball Analytics Hackathon invites you to invent new ways to represent and visualize data. It is the perfect opportunity for you to work with baseball executives and data scientists to refine your data science and analytic skills and show off your creativity by finding new ways to change the game. Hackathon participants will work to develop innovative data science and visualization solutions using unique datasets that will provide alongside anything else that is openly available on the Internet. Prizes will be awarded for the most impressive projects!
