Hi Friend, Remember #FIX216 a few months ago? Hack Cleveland hosted our first social justice hackathon and we were thrilled by the success and energy from that event. Since then, we've been spreading the word about tech for social justice and strategizing on how to build and grow from #FIX216. As you approach the building on foot, make sure you are on MLK (not Shaker). Walk directly towards the Boys & Girls club entrance off of MLK and look for the concrete stairs going down towards the building. Follow the curving pathway to its ending point and go inside the building Parking Options: You may park in the parking lot of Harvey Rice School and Library, along the street on Martin Luther King Drive or in the Saint Luke’s Manor parking lot. Lastly, additional parking is in the lot west of the building, and street parking on Martin Luther King Drive.     Hackathon: Reimagining a Collection

    Cargegie Museum of Art Hackathon: Reimagining a Collection November 13–15, 2015 Carnegie Museum of Art (CMOA) opens up its collections data in celebration of the 120th birthday of Carnegie Museums of Pittsburgh, on this occasion, the museum makes data available on the 30,000-plus artworks in its collection. To kick-start innovative thinking about the ways that collection data can be used, the museum hosts a weekend-long hackathon to bring together arts, technology, and education communities. The three-day event provides developers and designers tools and data for teams or individuals to help the museum reimagine its collection and enrich the museum experience. The Hackathon will be held Friday evening, November 13, through Sunday, November 15, 2015. Participants will be able to visit the museum’s galleries for inspiration throughout the weekend in addition to docent-led tours of CMOA galleries. Schedule of Events Friday evening at 7 p.m. the museum technology team invites participants to brainstorm and propose visualizations that are inspired by the collection or enhance the museum experience over beer and snacks. Saturday and Sunday, from 8:30 a.m. until 5 p.m., CMOA provides a workspace in the museum for team collaboration. The museum’s galleries will be available, during normal museum hours, until 5 p.m. Sunday, November 15 at 7 p.m. in CMOA Theater, participants showcase their work. The evening culminates with a party co-produced by Pittsburgh developer meetup group Code & Supply. On Friday evening meet at the Portal Entrance (sculpture courtyard) to the museums.
