    11 Dec - 12:15 PM
    Perth, Australia
The Perth SharePoint User Group will hold its last meeting for 2017 on 12:15pm Monday 11th December at Microsoft Perth. We have  Paul Culmsee (& Daughter!!) from Seven Sigma Business Solutions. Paul was recently awarded as a Microsoft MVP for Business Solutions.  “InfoPath is dead-as bro” - Recent Innovations with PowerApps, SharePoint and Flow Fresh off the plane from another week in New Zealand running PowerApps and Flow Hackathons, Paul Culmsee is back to provide another session on the dark arts of Citizen development in Office 365. This time he won’t be alone. Paul’s daughter at age 18 is already accomplished at PowerApps and Flow. Things change fast in the cloud, and since Paul’s last talk, Microsoft have just released the ability to customise the SharePoint list form experience using PowerApps which is the last nail in the coffin for InfoPath. Paul and Ashlee will cover this new functionality, as well as some other recent innovations. Finally, Paul will provide some insights on governance and training considerations to help your forward planning. This session will be fun an interactive, and should be of value to the geeks as well as strategic decision makers. We would like to thank Microsoft Perth for sponsoring the event venue. Walk this City - Parramatta - launch
      08 Dec - 03:15 PM
      Parramatta, Australia
We would love to walk more. However, we don't always know the variety of vibrant experiences and walking routes within reach of our workplace. Let's change this scenario for the better. Change it one scenic, healthy step at a time. Walk this City is a movement to introduce desk-based workers within Business precincts to healthier, more enjoyable walking trails. Trails that take in quieter back streets, cultural attractions, natural beauty and gathering spots e.g. markets, cafes etc.  Over time (based on participant feedback) we will collate and curate these trails into a "Walk this City" creative walking App. Feed your creative and wellbeing juices with an early morning or late afternoon walk through and to your neighbourhood's open spaces and cultural attractions. Gain refreshment, expand your business network, look at the everyday from a variety of 'thinking-hats', discover the skill of dynamic observation, be present by asking lot's of questions and practise the art of making non-obvious connections.  Our inaugural, "Walk this City - Parramatta" excursion will take place this Friday afternoon at 3:15 pm. We will meet at the Centennial Memorial Fountain within Centenary Square and do a 25-minute circuit as a group. The walk will take place rain, shine or rainbow! If raining, bring an umbrella and enjoy walking in the wet. It's fun. We'll be discussing a simple 'walkability' checklist prior and during the walk. Join the gathering! See you for "Walk this City". PS Walk this city was shaped by our experiences in the WWF Future Cities Hackathon. You can watch our concept presentation via YouTube and read more via DevPost.  NOTE: The event cover image is sourced from the Parramatta Heritage Centre website.

What is a Hackathon? We are inviting students in years 8-11 from schools in the area to join us. Students may be across multiple year groups or a single year group, dependant on the school. Staff who attend can be placed in an interschool teachers team to participate, or they can be in the gallery observing. When? Wednesday 6th December 9.30am-3pm Thursday 7th December 9.30am-3pm Where? SuperHack 2017
                02 Dec - 09:00 AM
                Melbourne, Australia
Our website can be accessed here. Once registered, all ticket information can be edited later by going to your profile (top right, just left from "CREATE EVENT") and accessing "Tickets". There can be up to two teams from each school. THE ISSUE Only 14% of the Australian Engineering Workforce consists of women. This shockingly low statistic is something we at MUEEC and Robogals intend to change. That is why this December we will encourage young women to take an interest in engineering with a two day long engineering-fest: a hackathon. THE CHALLENGE On the 2nd and 3rd of December at a brand new venue on the ground floor of 333 Exhibition Street, 20 teams of 3-5 girls in years 10 and 11 will compete to solve real world engineering challenges. THE SUPERHEROES With a superhero theme and supervision by University of Melbourne staff, each team will represent their school and have the chance to bring home awesome prizes, as well as cashing in on free giveaways.
