        Energy customers are angry. The cost of power and behaviour of power companies is just the beginning. Customers have been taken for granted, and they are desperate for change. Revolutionising the customer experience is essential to innovate the clean energy sector in Tassie. The adoption of existing, emerging and future technologies is the first step.  EnergyLab is excited to be coming to Hobart to facilitate a conversation on customer experience and it's role in innovating the energy sector in Tasmania and beyond. Join us for a social and environmental justice hackathon like no other! To celebrate global Unfuck the World Day on June 9th 2018, we will bring together 30 young rebels WITH a cause, together with mentors, to ideate solutions to some of the worlds most complex social and environmental challenges.  24 Hours 50 rebels with a cause 1 goal - To UNFUCK the world!!! Why? Its easy to feel like the world is fucked. We are living in times of increasing poverty and prejudice, hate and hunger, divisions and disaster...and its easy to let this shit get you down. BUT... for every problem we face there is a solution waiting to be born. For every worry we share, there is a growing sense of hope, a belief that together, we can build a brave new world. A world built on mad love for ALL people and planet. Martin Luther King said that ‘if the world were to end tomorrow, I would still plant an apple tree today’. Ideas to Unfuck the World is a social and environmental justice hackathon that supports young people 18-30 years old to plant seeds of change today, in the face of an uncertain tomorrow.  We are inspired daily by the raw energy, beauty and brilliance of youth. We also value the experience and grit of older activists who have dedicated their lives to fighting for what they believe. And we believe that bringing young and old(er) together, to create meaningful change, is the secret to Unfuck it this big, bad, beautiful world of ours.  How? Over 24 hours 30 young people 18-30 years old will work in small teams to address a number of problems that have been selected through consultation with our local and global networks. Throughout the challenge you will have access to a range of mentors and can take part in a series of workshops to help you develop and pitch your ideas.  The hackathon will be followed by a public pitch event where teams will have the opportunity to share their ideas to the audience and receive feedback from an expert panel of changemakers. The audience will get to put their money where their mouth is an donate $10 from the price of their ticket to their favourite idea, helping raise money for the teams to turn their ideas into action. We’ll also work with the teams after the event to help connect you with people who might be able to help you on your journey.               Do you have your own personal student struggle you want to fix? Do you want to win a prize for doing so? If so, come to CSESoc’s second hackathon! You will have one day as a group to come up with a solution to a problem through coding, all surrounding the theme of student struggles. If it can solve a problem a student has, no matter how big or small, it is the perfect opportunity to learn some new skills, get practical experience and run ideas through people in the industry. Your solution can be anything from a website to an app to a piece of hardware. There will be prizes, food throughout the day and mentors from tech companies to help you along the way. It doesn’t matter how experienced you are, as it is a good learning opportunity for people who have never been to hackathons or have little experience. Workshops will be run throughout the day to give people a hand. So even if you aren’t sure about your idea or how well you will go, the workshops are set up to help people at all different stages of development.You will participate in teams of 3-5.
