You and your team will be hacking your way through three real world SaaS sales scenarios. Each team will be facilitated by a one of Ottawa's top sales professionals and there will be a presentation on social selling and tackling sales from a SaaS perspective. Presenters include Randy Whitcroft, and two more. Beer and Pizza will be provided throughout the whole event.

This event will aim to provide you with an open data hackathon focused on improving quality of life in the Halton region through turning data into insights in order for you to produce useful solutions through collaborative software engineering.

VentureLAB is hosting the 4th annual GO OPEN DATA CONFERENCE 2016 (GOOD16), supporting innovative entrepreneurs, many of whom use open data to build businesses based on open data or create disruptive solutions to an existing problem. The theme for this year's conference is "Better Living Through Open Data." Focusing on how open data can be used to create innovative solutions and new businesses that help address community problems such as transportation or affordable housing. The Green Data Campaign is a way to learn the tools used by Data Scientists and impact the community. Learn about and create change through emerging technologies together with experts and community leaders who will provide you with resources and to develop proposals. The campaign includes four events throughout the month of May: 3 workshops and 1 design sprint - followed by a month of development on a project/proposal for Verdir and Soverdi, to be presented at the end of the month of June. The goal of the Green Data Campaign is to show the impact of data on real world problems.

This VR Hackathon is inviting all developers, designers, and visual/graphics/sound artists to build apps and VR experiences for the VR Passport campaign, a campaign to make a positive impact on others' lives. There will be mentors present at the event with experience on different aspects of VR development during the two workshops and the hackathon. You will have access to the WearHacks hardware library and will be able to use Project Tango's Development kit for your project. There will be two workshops organized prior to the hackathon for those of you who do not have a lot of experience with VR platforms. You will get familiar with Project Tango tablet dev kit and other wearables/VR/IoT devices. Anyone is welcome to participate, but as the event can only support a limited number of participants, there is an application process dependent on some criteria including: previous experience with developing on VR platforms, review of previous work, project proposal, and general team makeup (engineers, designers, artists).

The Halifax hackathon is the next hackathon ever since the Global Game Jam in January, and this time it will be open to anything: hardware, software, games, etc. In other words, if you can hack it, you can make it! The main aim of this event is for you to make something awesome, meet fellow developers, designers, techies, and startupers in Halifax, show off what you made and win amazing prizes!

The International NASA Space apps challenge is a yearly hackathon which runs for three days in over 130 cities around the world simultaneously.  Come as a developers, makers, engineers or entrepreneurs and take on the NASA-designed challenges, creating solutions that range from silly to serious, fantastical to feasible!

SkyWatch hosting the NASA International Space Apps Challenge for the Waterloo Region. This hackathon will attract Waterloo’s top tech and non-technical talent including: developers, makers, citizen scientists, engineers and entrepreneurs who will be asked to work non-stop for 48 hours to address NASA-designed challenges. The two winning solutions from the Waterloo challenge will move on to compete with other winners from across the globe, to be judged by the NASA International Space Apps Challenge team. This year’s event will include the unveiling of Canada’s first ever accelerator focused on space startups. The Canadian space industry will make this program become a reality right in the Waterloo district. More details will be reveal at the event.
