Family Hackathon! You and your family are invited to the Family Hackathon in support of the KCJ Fund to team up and find creative ways of hacking code, and adding your family personality to an already developed project. Don’t worry, each family will be supported by a computer programmer, so you do not need to know how to code! This Hackathon is about exploring, sharing and engaging with code, mixed in with a whole lot of laughter, food and prizes!

Hacking Health is hosting an 8-week Design Challenge to improve healthcare by mixing technology creators and healthcare professionals to work on realistic, human-centric solutions to front-line problems. Come and tackle real problems together with the support of professional mentors! Mentors and digital health experts will meet with the teams throughout the day to offer feedback and suggest ways to improve their prototypes. Teams will then spend the next 24 hours modifying, improving, testing, validating and tuning their prototypes in preparation for the demo competition. Once the hacking is complete, all teams will be evaluated by an expert panel of judges. Come and make your projects a reality.

This hackathon invites all Canadian residents over the age of 18 to come and find solutions to tackle the congestion that plagues the rush hour commutes of thousands of employees in Toronto. This will be done by using a policy + technology approach and working with the Mayor's office as well as half a dozen public and private employers, [D]congestant will aim to reduce the countless productive hours lost to traffic every day. It does not matter if you are a developer or a designer, the winning idea will be selected based on potential impact!

Businesses can integrate Holus into their service or processes to enhance customer experiences and increase efficiency. The possibilities are endless!

WearHacksKW is a 36-hour Hackathon about Wearables and IoT. Learn, create, and hack in a city known for its technological innovations. With access to a multitude of the best hardware on the market you will have the chance to design and build anything you have ever dreamed of! The hardwear that will be available to you include Thalmic Labs Myo, Leap Motion, Microsoft Kinect, Microsoft Band, Nod Ring, Oculus Rift DK2, Estimote Beacons, Pebble, mbientlab Metawear, Photon Internet Button, XYZ GestureSense, and Particle.io Kits!

This ia 3-days hackathon for creative problem solving, and rapid venture development taking place at the University of Alberta. Everyone is welcome to join this event, whether you’re a student in computer science, engineering, design, or business, there will be ample opportunity to bringing a project to life! The eHUB Hackathon will revolve around building technological solutions to issues ranging from business needs to social conundrums. Participants will have the option of joining a wide range of high-potential eHUB teams. High-performing groups will have a chance to secure summer-long internships to execute on their idea with organizations such as Alberta TechWorks and the University of Alberta Senate or with start-ups including CONNECTIA, EveryRole, FitSet, Intelife, and Tablespace.

Let your creative 8-10 year old become part of a digital storytelling adventure at this kid friendly hackathon, 3-hour workshop held by the New Media students of Ryerson University. Kids ages 8-10 will be introduced to the world of art and technology by teaching them various softwares such as Pixlr, iMovie and Scratch Programming to develop an interactive story. Inspired by Ryerson University’s Story Hackathon and the META art show, kids will be put into teams and will be given a hackathon challenge, on which they will have to work together to create the most inspiring and creative storybook experience! They will also get a glimpse on how to create wonderful works of interactive art, similar to how the artists are making their pieces in the upcoming Ryerson META art show!

ProtoHack wants to provide non-coders with the tools, knowledge and connections to bring their idea to life through the creation of a real prototype. No coding will be required. At the end, you and your team will present your project on stage to a panel of judges to get feedback.
