What is the Teens Learning Code Hackathon Program? Equipping the leaders of tomorrow with the skills and experience to succeed in the future of innovation. Not to mention, have a ton of fun along the way. Pack your laptop and an open mind - and join us for this fun, action packed Hackathon where we’ll tackle important social issues, chosen by YOU! With the hands-on, social and collaborative learning approach we’re known and loved for, Hackathons provide a fun, collaborative and intensive learning experience that introduces teen girls ages 13-17 years old to the world of solving real-world problems with technology. This special event aims to reinforce the strength in diverse teams and that anyone can contribute to solving problems -whether you are just starting out with coding or have many programming languages under your belt. The experience brings together technical workshops (HTML & CSS, UX/UI), work sessions, unplugged activities and industry insights where you're able to learn as a group in a collaborative, social, friendly and supportive environment. Teens will be inspired by the amazing instructors and mentors, and will learn the technological and creative skills necessary for this ever-changing digital generation. By the end of the Hackathon, you’ll have learned important skills to help you think critically, prepare you for the future in technology and contribute to the Web in a positive way. Extending beyond technology, participants will develop critical thinking skills and empathy by learning how to identify, frame and unpack problems to tackle. What can I expect? Day 1 -​ 6:00pm to 9:30pm Learners will spend the evening learning to pitch and frame the problems they’d like to solve with their teams. Day 2 - 9:00am - 8:30pm Day 2 will be jam-packed with technical and non-technical workshops, and plenty of time for collaborative work sessions. Learners will produce products that they’re proud of and have the opportunity to show off their work. Families and friends are invited to join us in the evening, where the participants will pitch and present their final projects to the crowd! Workshop Dates: This workshop will be run over the course of two days:  Who is this for? Our Teens Learning Code workshops and events offer female-identified, trans, and non-binary youth ages 13-17 opportunities to take action on ideas that will shape our future while leveraging the power of technology. Our learning experiences are much more than learning how to code. Our experiences empower teens to learn problem solving skills, how to turn ideas into reality, exposure to what a future in technology could look like, and much more. Prerequisites: None! This workshop is designed for beginners. What's Included: Requirements:  Note: If you do not have a laptop to use during the duration of the workshop, we have a limited quantity that we can loan out. A new facebook is about to see the day on January 1st 2020. But without you the coders, It will never see the day on time. That is why Face team is organizing a hackathon at the Emerald Bar at 5295 Parc Avenue. We are right now 22 shareholders at Face, from Millionaires to Homeless we have all type of shareholders, they all share on thing, they have a talent that is an asset for Face to succeed. You too dear coders, you can have a seat at the table and help us make Face a solid competitor to Facebook. At the Hackathon only 40 coders will be invited, and among those 40 only 20 will be selected. As you may imagine only the best 20 will make it. The hackathon will happen from 9 to 5 on Saturday and Sunday. The task is simple, you will be given templates and instructions to code the new facebook. The emerald Bar gave us the great honor to organize the hackathon at their place. However we are not providing food and drinks. Every coder has to bring its food, drinks. Here is the details of Hackathon program. Saturday 23 Nov: Round 1: 8am- The 40 coders come to the emerald bar on 5295 parc avenue with their food and drink. We will give you the templates and instruction to follow. 9am to 5pm- Each coder has one task to do, his work will be compared to the person who did the same task. Since you are 40, there are 20 tasks to do. 5 to 7pm- Check of your work, and decide who will go to the second round. 7pm to 8pm- Messages will be sent to the 30 ones who made it to the second round. Sunday 24 Novembre 8am- The 30 coders will receive their second task to do. 15 tasks has to be done. Again every 2 coders will receive the same task so we can compare your work. 9am to 5pm- Each coder has one task to do, his work will be compared to the person who did the same task. Since you are 30, there are 15 tasks to do. 5 to 7pm- Check of your work, selections of the 20 winners. The 20 winners will join the group chat with the other 22 shareholders and become shareholders too. All the shares are divided equally that means 100/42 will be 2.38 % each. The official relase of FACE website will be January 1st 2020, we are targeting 100,000 users by July 2020.
