Starting IoT Project with ESP8266
28 Jul - 08:00 AM
Jakarta Barat, Indonesia
About The Workshop
The IoT (Internet of Things) extends internet connectivity beyond traditional devices like desktop, laptop computers, smartphones & tablets to a diverse range of devices that utilize embedded technology to communicate and interact with the external environment. All via the Internet. Examples of objects that can fall into the scope of IoT include connected security systems, thermostats, cars, electronic appliances, lights in household, commercial environments, alarm clocks, speaker systems, vending machines and more.
The ESP8266 is a low cost IoT chip from Espressif (China), as a new generation of IoT hardware trends. First published on August 2014, this tiny WiFi chip has a small processor onboard, so it can actually function in complete autonomy, without an additional microcontroller board. It makes the ESP8266 the perfect piece of hardware for connected home automation projects. In this workshop, we’ll stick to the basics IoT project. We will see how to configure the chip, and finally how to connect it to your WiFi network. We’ll simply be using the ESP8266 Development board, Arduino IDE to program it & also free IoT platform to control & monitor the ESP8266.
