Hack the Brain Dublin 2017
10 Jun - 09:00 AM
Dublin 2, Ireland
Hack the Brain Dublin is an immersive creative hackathon weekend in Science Gallery Dublin which aims to get artists, designers, neuroscientists, experimental psychologists, engineers and developers working together in transdisciplinary teams to develop ideas into prototype artworks, objects, inventions or interfaces which use or harness brain signals and brain-computer interface (BCI) technology. If you have an interest in any of these topics, and want to learn more by getting stuck in, this is the event for you! Don’t worry if your current expertise doesn’t stretch to brainwaves - we'll provide you with online tutorial material in advance, and we'll have BCI drop-in workshops on the afternoon of Friday 9th. There will also be artistic, scientific and technical mentors and helpers on hand all weekend to help you along!
By signing up here to join a team, you'll get the opportunity to work intensely with new people from a range of backgrounds to explore, collaborate, converse, and create together over the course of the weekend. It doesn’t have to be complete or perfect, but something new will be made. And we'll feed you!
Projects will be announced at a pre-hackathon event on May 16th and you'll be able to join one of the teams after that. If you can't decide at that stage, you'll also get a chance to hear from the team leaders at the kick-off event on Friday June 9th. Hacking will commence on Saturday June 10th at 10am and the event will wrap up at 8pm on Sunday 11th.
