Event Description
IoT-Leb is a leading IoT event that actively contributes to the development of a mature IoT ecosystem in Lebanon. The mission of IoT-Leb is twofold: bringing the IoT into the Lebanese market and positioning Lebanon on the IoT world map. The first 2017 edition organized by the Faculty of Engineering ESIB, Saint Joseph University of Beirut, gathered 400 participants around insightful discussions and exhibitions demonstrating that Lebanon has the required ecosystem to develop innovative IoT solutions for a wide variety of applications.

For the 2019 edition, ESIB engages a steering committee of distinguished professionals from ANSYS, AutomatiX, Berytech, CardioDiagnostics, Château Kefraya, CME, Data Consult, IM Capital, Joseph Tehini & Fils, LCTechHub, Scriptr, and SMG-Energy.
IoT-Leb 19 will be a two-day event featuring inspiring keynotes, specialized sessions, dynamic panels, an exhibition, and a hackathon. The IoT hackathon is a great opportunity for all those seeking to learn about implementations of IoT technologies, and those wishing to share and develop their ideas. The main conference will feature an array of speakers and panelists discussing the progress of IoT technologies in Lebanon.
Date and Venue
The IoT hackathon will take place at the CIMTI labs, ESIB, Mar Roukz on the 12th of March 2019. The main conference will be held on the 13th of March 2019 at the Jean Ducruet Auditoriumm, CST campus, Mar Roukos.

Are there any requirements to attend the event?
Due to limited places, there will be a selection criterion for the hackathon attendees. The main conference is open for everyone.
What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?
Parking is available (for free) on the university campus.
Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
Registration is necessary. Bringing your ticket with you is preferable but not mandatory.
Is it ok if the name on my ticket or registration doesn't match the person who attends?
In order to facilitate organization, it is important that all attendees register for the event.

1- "AR and Education" features:
Yash Sahay: "Yash has founded three startups and one of them was in the EdTech space. At Facebook, he leads the Product Partner Engineering team for Europe, Middle East, and Africa and works closely with Spark AR Studio team".
Tom Goldsmith: "Tom's experience in education includes founding one education startup and being employee number four at another. At Facebook, Tom is the product manager for Spark AR graphics and audio".
2- "AR and Gaming" features:
Edgar Neto: "Edgar has 10 years of experience in coding games, having won international awards for indie projects, and has made games for Xbox360, PC, Web, and Mobile. Currently, as a Partner Engineer for Platforms, Edgar has enabled developers across EMEA to make successful games and AR products using Facebook's technology stack".
Matt Roberts: "Matt's career in gaming spans console, web, mobile and wearable game design. At Facebook, Matt leads product for the Spark AR Tooling suite, including Spark AR Studio and Spark Publishing".
3- "AR and Sharing" features:
Raisah Aziz: "Raisah is a Product Manager on Spark AR Studio, focusing on Creator Success with the tool. Before joining the Spark AR team, she worked in Facebooks Ads Ranking team. Raisah joined Facebook after a stint in FinTech, building, and growing an online marketplace for real estate debt, and time on Wall Street as a Derivatives Trader. She holds a Masters in Chemical Engineering".
Davide La Sala: "Davide is a 3D Generalist and Creative Technologist with 20+ years of experience in computer graphics, before joining the Spark AR Studio Design team he worked on more than 15 Hollywood movies in companies such as Dreamworks Animation, Framestore and MPC as well as working for Oculus".
4- "AR and Publishing & Optimization" features:
Elise Xu: "Elise is a Product Manager for Facebook’s Spark AR Platform. She has also worked at Facebook on new advertising products and video ranking and recommendations in News Feed. She joined Facebook from a digital health startup that developed mobile tools to improve medication management and adherence. In a former life, she was a management consultant".
Andy Davis: "Andy is a senior technical artist working in AR and VR with over twenty years of experience in computer games and multimedia. Prior to joining Facebook, he built environments for games such as LEGO Star Wars and Wipeout, before specializing as a technical artist and tooling engineer at Rockstar Games".
