IoT is short for Internet of Things. The Internet of Things refers to the ever-growing network of physical objects that feature an IP address for internet connectivity, and the communication that occurs between these objects and other internet-enabled devices and systems. This hackathon event will take place over three days , 11/12/13 December 2018  Disclaimer: If you do not attend after registering for the event , you will be liable to pay a fee of R1500 which will be invoiced by DUT.

We need to assess, monitor, nurture, account, guide and forecast the grow of the digital ecosystem. Big Hole Hackathon is a 2-day of coding where one learns from the community and gets rewarded on the effort. Creating an enabling environment for local techies to connect and build capacity on their skills. Target: Aspiring developers, high school learners, designers, government officials/techies, adults, etc.

        TADHack Johannesburg runs on the 13th and 14th October 2018, in parallel with 20+ other locations around the world. TADHack is a hackathon that helps people learn about the latest Internet, IT, and Telecoms technologies; and use those technologies to solve problems that are important to you.  TADHack is for Everyone!, what matters is that you are interested in technology and how it can solve problems that are important to you, and perhaps even change the world,   Our hacks have included programmable telecoms (voice, video, messaging), internet of things, cloud computing, robotics, machine learning, speech and face recognition, mobile payments, enterprise communications, decentralized web, blockchain, encryption, open source, and many other technologies.           WHAT IS IT? TUT SOSHANGUVE Campus' first Annual Agile Hackathon organized by students community and academic staff in collaboration with the agile community in the industry.   WHY ARE WE DOING IT? To close the agile system devlopment knowledge gap between the industry and university students.                    The KASI CREATE-A-THON will use a hackathon format, underpinned by Agile practices, to deliver fresh ideas  and solutions to the surrounding community. Objectives To create a knowledege sharing plartform for the latest agile and software development trends To nurture a playground away from work routine to grow the agile community in SA,through training and mentorship To disrupt the university September/October recess with a fun, focused learning platform   HOW DOES IT WORK? Students will register cress-functional teams, of four to seven team members. The number of teams is limited to 10.The KASI CREATE-A-THON will kick start with aday of workshops hosted by local and international Agile volunteers. Thereafter the students will start to work on their ideas! An industry mentor will collaborate with each team to guide the devlopment for 2 days. On Saturday afternoon, each team will have the opportunity to showcase their ideas.

              RE-IMAGINE A Fintech Future  Calling problem solvers, innovators and entrepreneurs. Grindrod Bank Limited is hosting the RE-IMAGINE Hackathon on 28th-30th September 2018. This is a 36-hour event that will run from Friday 10:00am to Sunday 15:00pm, including judging and prize giving. The Challenge Within the guidelines of the theme; RE-IMAGINE A FinTech Future, you are encouraged to challenge yourselves to innovate without limits and push boundaries; to create something that brings positive change to solving real problem. Team entries of between 3 and 5 team members of any age, gender and skill level are invited. Hackathons are the epitome of innovation and due to the time limits imposed, rapid development and constant challenges adds to the excitement of the event. Your team will be provided with a developer key to access Grindrod Bank's Open Banking API upon registration.
