Dubai Mini Maker Faire is a one week celebration of innovation and digital fabrication hosted by Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Distinguished Academic Performance – FabLab UAE. The event will include various and unique activities in different fields such as 3D printing, laser cutting, electronics, coding and designing. Experts and makers from UAE, GCC, and around the world will share their knowledge, experience and their unique projects. Visitors can interact with the latest digital technologies and will make fun DIY projects related to electronics, coding, robotics, arts, furniture, and many more! The Event will feature 4 main streams which are: Workshops: Various interesting workshops will be provided during the event in Robots, 3D design and 3D printing, Laser cutting, textiles, making wooden furniture, programming and electronics. Talks: Makers and experts will share their inspiring stories, achievement and knowledge in innovation and digital fabrication to the public. Exhibition: Makers will showcase their innovative projects and will share their experience! There will be local makers from different ages, gifted makers from the special needs category, and international makers. Also, little innovators from age 5yr will share their amazing ideas as drawings which will come to life soon! Zayed Hackathon: The hackathon will bring makers together from different fields and majors to form teams in order to come up with new ideas or solutions to solve a problem which will be assigned to them. Until the 28th of February, teams will brainstorm ideas and start making prototypes using all the materials and machinery which will be provided for them under the supervision of an expert guru. The ideas will be evaluated by public support, teams support and a jury of professionals. Winners will receive prizes at the ceremony on the 28th of February.
