Or accept IBM's Call for Code challenge to improve logistics based on traffic and weather activity, or one of the challenges from AWS, FitBit, Consensys, and Agora! At the end of the Global Hackathon Series, the AngelHack Grand Prize will be awarded to the project that is innovative without limits and brings positive change to the world.

After 7 hours of hacking, you will be able to showcase your projects to the judges where they will then pick the winning team! The day will give you the chance to bring your ideas to life. Not all attendees have to code or have much knowledge of coding, just bring your knowledge, an open mind and enthusiasm.

CodeLife - EMIS Health Hackathon 2018

EMIS Health build software solutions to support patients, like you and me, live longer healthier lives.
Tech in healthcare is huge at the moment, there are so many new and interesting apps and tools that can support the vision of providing better patient experience when travelling their healthcare journey.
On the 23rd of June at 08:00AM we're kick starting “CodeLife” - our very own Hackathon, inviting people from across the North to join us for 14 hours of pure tech talk and on the spot innovation!
You will be in teams of 4 or 5 (bring your own team or we can team you up) and the day will run from 08:00 - 22:00 and will include Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner for those taking part. It’s a points means prizes day with the topic of choice being "social media vs healthcare" - focusing on current and upcoming technologies. Use your knowledge of social media to prototype an app or tool that could benefit patients in healthcare.
As it’s a long day we will be providing free transport back to the centre of Manchester and then onto Leeds City Centre.
What’s expected of you on the day?
Eat our food
Enjoy yourself
Design/prototype us some software that will support healthcare using any technology and showcase it at the end of the day in front of our panel.
Bring your own laptop and any other supporting technologies. We will provide Internet access and power, as well as the odd Azure server if needed.
You will be in a team.
Points means prizes…
The bulk of the day will allow you to focus on the prototype as this will be awarded the most points. There will be other challenges on the day including SQL, Infrastructure, UI/UX and many more. These small challenges will help top up your teams points total!
1st Place Team - £2,000, Raspberry Pi’s
2nd Place Team – Raspberry Pi’s
3rd Place Team – Raspberry Pi’s
Plus other prizes on the day.
The team with the most points at the end of the day wins!
Schedule
08:00 – 08:30 – Arrival and Breakfast 08:30 – 09:00 – Briefing 09:00 – 19:30 – Innovate (Lunch is somewhere in the middle) 19:30 - Close (~22:00) – Dinner, Showcase to panel, awards. 22:30 – Coach back to Leeds and Manchester.
Travel
We have ample free parking, we are a 15 minute walk from Horwich Park Way Train station which has a regular service from Manchester and Preston. We will be providing free transport back to the centre of Manchester and Leeds, please let us know in advance.
Food
We will be providing food on the day of the event but if ou don't like our offerings we are a 5 minute walk from Middlebrooke Retail park which has all of the usual food outlets.
