Workshop on Google Cloud.
We will have an introductory lecture on Google cloud, followed by a workshop in Qwiklabs.
Please remember to bring your laptop, charger, and snacks.
The event will take place in the Portland Building P1.04.
You will not have to stay for the full duration, but I have the room booked until 5pm, so you are free to continue to work on the self-directed labs or any other work you may have.
What are Developer Student Clubs (DSC)?
Developer Student Clubs (DSC) are university-based community groups run by Google Developers for students with an interest in growing as developers. By joining a DSC, students grow their knowledge in a peer-to-peer learning environment and build solutions for local businesses and their community.
Program Outline
The DSC will organize and facilitate workshops/hackathons/study jams in our university to provide students with technical development skills. Interested students get an opportunity to apply their skills for a real-life problem sourced from the local community. In addition, students gain problem-solving skills as they understand and develop a solution using technology.
Who can join DSC?
Events that will be held by the DSC are open to all interested students from undergraduate and graduate programs. Members of the local public are welcome too. If you would like to work together on an event, please get in contact.

The Oil & Gas Technology Centre (OGTC), supported by Code the City, will be hosting a hackathon event using real data from oil and gas operators and service providers, with specific challenges to explore.
The hackathon event is an opportunity for data scientists, coders, developers, user experience professionals and those with data visualisation skills to work on these challenges with likeminded individuals in niche teams that will be formed on the day.
As an attendee you will have several unique opportunities, including:
Exploring real data and address real industry challenges
Applying your data science and other skills to a big problem
Gaining insight into what others are thinking and offer your insight too
Learning new ways of exploring the problem space with others in a facilitated process.
Demonstrating specialist skills to the major data providers and industry partners who will be in attendance
The event will use real production data and through a process of initial exploratory data analysis, ideation and rapid prototyping, participants will develop proof of concept applications and solutions which may be further developed through to production.
This one-day event is being hosted by the OGTC at 20 Queens Road, Aberdeen and is limited to 20 participants.
This is a fantastic opportunity for participants to further develop
coding skills and gain understanding of real industry challenges.
