The #MentalHealthHackathon wants you to use open data to identify new opportunities to strengthen mental health awareness and suicide prevention in the U.S. The White House Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP) and U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) are organizing a series of suicide prevention hackathons in five different cities across the United States: Boston, Chicago, New York, San Francisco, and Washington.. The Obama Administration places a top priority on science and data as tools for solving complex challenges including public health, mental health, and suicide prevention. The hackathon will bring together data scientists, innovators, designers, and next-generation technologists with subject matter experts in suicide prevention. All are united for one common purpose - to prevent suicide!

ATL Thinks! is is hosted by Amplify 4 Good for Hartsfield-Jackon Atlanta International Airport to find developing ideas for technical solutions around reducing security check-in waiting times, cargo, and improving the overall airport guest experience.

Indie Game Park sponsored by Amazon app store will help you to make your game in 72 hours with a team, or solo in 48 hours! No previous experience needed to join in on this fun challenge.

All the teams are told a single premium domain name at the beginning of the event to build something for. They then have two hours to Come up with a functioning site inspired by a premium domain name given to you at the start of the hackathon. Which ever team builds the most creative and funny idea for the domain wins.

Event Details Back To Work ll, Inc. and The CODE for Empowerment and Humanity are launching our second hackathon and it will include a cautionary simulation jam which is entitled "An Hour of Code and Beyond a Wearable Tech Hack & Jam"!   Our hack & Jam’s Challenge, Cyber Security and Personal Safety, will emphasize how concerned citizens can help create positive change within the global community through helping developing an Entrepreneurial Information Technology and Software Engineering Apprenticeship and School to Apprenticeship ecosystem, that addresses economic empowerment, humanitarian values and social justice themes.   Teams will develop skills, technologies and solutions that solve problems in this space. “Cyber Security and Personal Safety” is about creating a good and safe environment for both our citizens and their machines.  What is a hack & Jam? Our Wearable Technology Hack and Cautionary Simulator Jam is an event designed for concerned citizens to unite to solve problems by building apps for simulators, websites and wearable technologies that address Cyber and personal Security and safety. This educational and skills development life changing opportunity focuses on critical thinking and team work allows students to work in teams with experienced mentors over a weekend to learn how to plan and build apps over 5 months then demo a solution with team members to potential educators and employers!   Who will be there and what can one learn? This Wearable Technology Hack and Cautionary Simulator Jam is open to participants of all experience levels.  Previous computer camp and STEM exposure is great but if you’re new to coding and building apps, you’re welcome to apply as well! CodeCrew students are joining in for The Hour of Code! A one-hour event providing the opportunity for kids to show off their mobile app development skills. Only students who have participated in a previous CodeCrew event, such as Grizzlies Code Camp, the RiverFit Hackathon, or the Fall After School Program are able to participate in this event. Last year, every Apple Store in the world hosted an Hour of Code and even President Obama wrote his first line of code as part of the campaign. This year, CodeCrew is joining to make it even bigger!
