"TECH FOR SOCIAL IMPACT" FORTY-EIGHT HOURS, HUNDREDS OF TEENS, THOUSANDS OF IDEAS TO INNOVATE, COLLABORATE, AND CREATE FOR A BETTER WORLD!  Oct/Nov: Multi-Site Civic Hackathons around the world! Dec 5: World Pitch Finals livestreaming from Salesforce HQ 4x Forbes' "Most Innovative Company in the World"   What Makes the TeenTech GLOBAL Civic Hackathon Unique? Social Impact Goal: Tech Solutions to Civic Problems Free, Beginners Welcome: Special Award for New Hackers Open to Anyone, Anywhere: Equal Access to Tech for Teens   GREAT! How Do I Get Started? Register to receive the TeenTech GLOBAL Civic Hackathon prompts. Develop a tech solution to a civic problem and a 3 minute pitch. You will have a maximum of 48 continuous hours (must be continuous, you cannot work 6 hours for 8 days). Projects can take any form: coding project, app creation, Arduino project, website, Maker prototype, 3-D printer project...) Hackathon teams are made up of 2-5 students who must be 13-18 yrs old. Each student must register individually. Project must be original and new. Previously developed projects cannot be submitted.   TIMING NOVEMBER 16: GLOBAL Wild Card Submission deadline extended! NOVEMBER 22: Submission deadline for community-wide Civic Hackathon finalists and GLOBAL Wild Card finalists DECEMBER 5: Civic Hackathon World Pitch Finals livestreaming from SalesForce HQ!   TeenTech GLOBAL WILD CARD ENTRY Anyone, anywhere can enter the GLOBAL Wild Card category. Projects and pitch video must be submitted for judging by NOVEMBER 9. Finalists in the GLOBAL Wild Card category will be notified by NOVEMBER 16 and will have a maximum of an additional 48 continuous hours to polish their presentation and develop a 3 minute pitch video. Finalists must submit their projects by NOVEMBER 23 for the TeenTech GLOBAL Civic Hackathon World Pitch Finals livestreaming from Salesforce HQ! TeenTech GLOBAL Civic Hackathon Guidelines PDF   TeenTech CIVIC HACKATHON MENTOR GLOBAL Wild Card entries must be supervised by a teacher, tech leader, or other adult mentor who is not related to the student participants (cannot be a parent). Mentors are encouraged to provide support and advice and must verify that the student participants followed the TeenTech GLOBAL Civic Hackathon guidelines. TeenTech GLOBAL Civic Hackathon Guidelines PDF   TeenTech CIVIC HACKATHON ORGANIZER We're looking for global partners to help organize Civic Hackathons in their local area during October and November. A TeenTech GLOBAL Civic Hackathon Organizer could be a teacher or community leader who wants to organize a mini-hackathon for two afternoons after school or a complete hackathon over a weekend. The event could be for a single class, school-wide, or open to any student in the community. The event could be sponsored by your school, your neighborhood library, or a tech company or non-profit organization. Students who develop projects as part of classroom or school activities should enter in the GLOBAL Wild Card category and must submit projects and pitch video for judging by November 9. Finalists in community-wide events or a school event open to the entire community will automatically advance to the TeenTech GLOBAL Civic Hackathon World Pitch Finals livestreaming from Salesforce HQ in San Francisco and should submit their projects and pitch videos by November 23.  READ THE GUIDELINES AND REGISTER NOW AS A CIVIC HACKATHON ORGANIZER!     Grizzlies Code Camp Intermediate After School Program

       GRIT. GRIND. CODE. Rejoin CodeCrew for an exciting fall of coding!  This Grizzlies Code Camp Intermediate After School class is for students who either attended the six-week Grizzlies Code Camp summer camp in June and July, or the two-day RiverFit Hackathon at the end of July. Students will learn intermediate level design and programming of mobile applications using MIT's AppInventor platform and other educational platforms. Grizzlies Code Camp After School meets Tuesdays from 4:00PM to 5:30PM, beginning September 15 through December 15, 2015.  Light snacks will be provided.     Sept 15 - Dec 15, 2015 Tuedays  (4 - 5:30pm)   Grizzlies Digital Lab Lester Community Center 317 Tillman St. Memphis, TN 38112 This after school program has an administrative fee of $10 per student.  The cost of the program is free, provided by a full scholarship with completion of the Grizzlies Code Camp update form (or the registration packet, if you did not complete one this summer), due on the first day of the program, September 15, 2015. Grizzlies Code Camp is funded with the generous support of the Memphis Grizzlies Foundation. CodeCrew is a Start Co Sky High initiative co-founded by Meka Egwuekwe, Petya Grady, and Audrey Jones.
