1st Local Transport Ideathon Manchester 2019

Transport for Greater Manchester is partnering with the UITP as part of the EU-funded international IMOVE project to tackle tough urban mobility challenges with a weekend of innovation and collaboration. This event gathers passionate developers, digital artists, IoT experts, innovators, and business savvy professionals, to bring about the pro-social and environmental potential of 'Mobility as a Service'. During the weekend we will help you bring your mobility innovation idea into reality. We will give you a crash course in running a start-up and see if you come up with the next killer idea! Is the future of travelling booking via voice of Amazon Alexa or Google home? Or a Facebook Chat concierge tailoring your journey to all of your needs? Could it be a simple journey app that help you discover a quieter part of a city? The 1st Local Transport Ideathon Manchester 2019 is being held in of the Youth for Public Transport 2019 Global Hackathon. The winning project will travel to the international final of the 3rd Y4PT Global Transport Hackathon in Stockholm (Sweden) during the 63rd UITP Global Public Transport Summit in June 2019, one of the biggest events on sustainable transport in the world. Here they will challenge each other in a final round and have the possibility to be included among the best innovative transport solutions in the world. For one person per team, the travel costs, accommodation and participation in the UITP Summit will be covered. FREE TO ATTEND
