2019 Social Enterprise Conference at Harvard

Organized by

The 20th Annual Social Enterprise Conference (SECON) at Harvard will bring together top leaders, practitioners and students on March 2-3, 2019 to engage in dialogue, debate, and expression around Social Enterprise. Our mission is to educate participants about the potential of Social Enterprise in solving the world’s most pressing problems and to inspire meaningful discussion around the key challenges within the field. This year, SECON seeks to address the following: Unlikely Allies: Forging Partnerships for Progress.  The theme seeks to highlight the recent industry trends toward corporate social responsibility of for-profit entities, sustainability of non-profit organizations, and powerful, albeit unusual, partnerships that have formed in an effort to create long-term social impact.  The conference hopes to challenge conference attendees to think about what it means to truly create positive social impact and whether we are truly working to create a better society.   SECON gathers attendees from across the private, public, social, and academic sectors for two days of education and networking. Through a variety of programming, from hackathons to design workshops, SECON provides a unique forum to engage participants. Throughout its history, SECON has been highly recognized and was ranked by Forbes Magazine, alongside international events like the World Economic Forum at Davos and the Clinton Global Initiative, as one of the Top 12 Executive Gatherings in the World. Stay tuned for more information. This year’s opening Keynote is Anand Giridharadas, author of Winners Take All, and the conference will also host speakers and panelists from Vulcan, Woods Hole Research Center, The World Future Society, The Energy Project, Venture for America, Bain Double Impact, and more.  More information on speakers and the agenda can be found at www.socialenterpriseconference.com.
