3Devices: 3D Printing Hackathon

Organized by Research Platforms Services

This 3D Printing Hackathon is being held on Thursday 28th March 5-7:30pm by Eric Jong and Gordon Chen from Research Platform Services.

    About this Event:

3D Printing Hackathon: Learn the tools to build and design for 3D printing! Be creative, innovate and collaborate in small teams of fellow researchers. Find something you are really passionate about, design it, 3D print it, and share it with others in a presentation to a special guest panel. Come along for an excellent introduction to the world of 3D printing.

3Device is a 4 week 3D printing hackathon that promotes device innovation for any field, inclusive of medicine, engineering, dentistry, design, veterinary science or any other faculty. It will run every Thursday night from Marth 28th to April 18th inclusive.

Students at the University of Melbourne will come together in teams and use 3D modeling and printing to develop a device product during workshops blended with training in all parts of the 3D printing workflow. By rapidly prototyping their ideas with access to 3D printing facilities, teams will finally share their device and pitch it to an incredible panel of industry and specialist judges. Winners will receive fantastic prizes while everyone gets the opportunity to speak to industry experts and get their product off the ground.

Join in for an opportunity to upskill in technology that’s changing research, to collaborate across disciplines and to produce a potentially tangible business product!
