Accenture Digital Hackathon - Connected Edition

Accenture announces the first Connected edition of Digital Hackathon for young creative designers, developers and marketing specialists, both students and recent university graduates.


How to apply

Participants can apply as:

  1. Individuals without team.
  2. Team members.

Organizers will set up teams from registered individuals without team, feel free to write us your preference. 


Registration procedure 

To make your registration complete, you need to follow both of the following points:

  1. Register by registration form on Eventbrite.
  2. Send us your CV to marketa.mrazova@accenture.com.

In the e-mail with attached CV it is important to write:

  • The name of your team (if you have a team);
  • Or that you search for a team (if you don´t have a team).


What is Accenture Digital Hackathon - Connected edition

Connect. Collaborate. Create. 

Today’s challenges are too complex to be solved by any individual person or nation. The solutions of the future will require the creativity and innovation of us all because only by working together will we be able to create a better world. This is the challenge that has been set for the latest Accenture Digital Hackathon, which will involve the United Arab Emirates, Germany, the Czech Republic, Spain, Great Britain, Italy, Netherlands and Turkey.

It is to be Accenture’s first connected Hackathon! An exceptional opportunity to come together with other young talents in a challenge of international scope, sharing ideas and experimenting with the latest technologies and innovations. 


What to expect

During our 24-hour marathon the participants will be asked to prototype ideas, products and services that are able to create social and economic value for the community by hacking everyday objects. Participants will be asked to use digital technologies in creative, innovative ways to benefit people and the environment with a view to offering solutions in a range of fields.

Experience the unforgettable thrill of coming together, for two days in an amazing setting, with peers who share the same passion for digital technology and innovation. 

Participants of Hackathon will compete in teams of 3-5 people. Every team should contain at least one:

  • Developer,
  • Marketing Specialist,
  • Creative Designer.

Participants can be students and recent university graduates.

Participants will have 24 hours (from 11 AM on Saturday to 11 AM on Sunday) in which to work on the challenge, using any of the tools and strategies they choose, and to create the prototype that will be submitted to the judges for evaluation.


The jury 

The projects executed by the teams for the competition will be evaluated by a panel of expert judges, some of which will be members of Accenture senior management, along with other authoritative figures from the world of high-tech and innovation.

 

Prizes

The three winning teams will be awarded with technological voucher.

At the end of the ceremony, the first teams in each city will then be invited to compete head to head against the winners from the other cities in order to determine the top three teams overall.

Winning teams of the Prague event will be awarded to following prizes by the panel of judges:

  • 1st place team: 1 voucher in the amount of €500 for each team member
  • 2nd place team: 1 voucher in the amount of €300 for each team member
  • 3rd place team: 1 voucher in the amount of €200 for each team member

The top three teams overall (from all 8 cities) will receive the following prizes:

  • 1st place team: 1 voucher in the amount of €1000 for each team member
  • 2nd place team: 1 voucher in the amount of €600 for each team member
  • 3rd place team: 1 voucher in the amount of €400 for each team member

 

When and where?

The Hackathon is to be held on the days of November 26, 2016, starting at 11:00 thru November 27, 2016 finishing at 19:30, at Paralelní Polis, Dělnická 43, Praha 7 and simultaneously in the following cities: Dubai, Istanbul, London, Dortmund, Rome, Madrid and Amsterdam.


Will Accenture get the intellectual property rights to the product coded by the teams?

No, the code produced by the team during the Hackathon will be of their own property.
