AMHP NY/NJ Hackathon
American Muslim Health Professionals of NY/NJ is starting the year by holding its first-ever hackathonon Saturday, February 25th, 2017 at Thoughtworks (99 Madison Avenue, New York, NY).
∆ WHAT'S A HACKATHON?
Native to the tech industry, a hackathon is a day-long event that brings together diverse professionals to dissect, analyze, and brainstorm to find solutions to a problem. We, however, are taking this concept and applying it to solve social issues like domestic violence. In other words, you won't be building any apps or websites. Our primary motive is to highlight and strengthen a local not-for-profit that serves DV survivors and families by exploring any one of the following areas:
-
Organization’s sustainability
-
Capacity building
-
Domestic Violence (DV) prevention
-
Awareness and customer service lifecycle
**NOTE** Participating organization is not obliged to implement the winning solution.
∆ TICKET
$25 Includes breakfast and lunchIf you’re interested in either presenting your organization, serving as a judge, mentor, panelist (a panel discussion on DV will be held in the week prior to hackathon) or a general volunteer, please fill out this link by February 2nd, 2017.
