The goal of ATHack is to bring awareness to the important field of developing assistive technologies.

We pair teams of students with clients in the Boston/Cambridge community who live with a disability. Each client has a problem in mind which they face because of their disability. Over the course of the hackathon, students brainstorm, design, and create prototype solutions for their client.

Before the hacakthon, teams meet their clients at the Meet the Clients Dinner to better understand the problem they face and start brainstorming solutions.

Meet the clients dinner:
February 8, 7:30-9:30 PM, MIT Lobdell (84 Massachusetts Ave.)

The actual hackathon occurs nearly three weeks later where students will work at creating their solution.

Hackathon:
February 27, 8AM-10 PM, Beaverworks - NE45-202, Suite 202 (300 Technology Sq.)

Registration deadline is January 30th, 2016. Individuals registering after the deadline will be placed on the waitlist. In the case of limited spots, there will be a lottery with the results available February 2nd, 2016.

*Note on teams*
If you have a team, you will be asked to fill out your project preferences as a team at the meet the clients dinner. If you do not have a team, you can use the dinner to meet other participants and form a team, or we can match you with a team during the team-client matching process following the dinner based on your project preferenes.
