All-female hackathon to help solve plastic pollution
Athena is a free event that provides a platform for the industry to Champion, Encourage and Inspire females within technology.
ShowCode have partnered with, our event host, Queen Mary University London, J.P. Morgan and the Institute of Coding in order to help close the digital skills gap within the UK. Our aim is to boost equality and diversity in technology-related education and careers from early contact through to employment.
Our hackathon, coding workshops and talks with leading women in the industry will create an exciting and interactive weekend of technology.

Athena Hack
Athena Hack is an all-female hackathon, for anyone aged 18+ who identifies as female/non-binary, supporting Plastic Oceans UK.
It is an exciting experience organised by ShowCode as an initiative to champion female technologists and focus their skills to help solve one of the biggest environmental issues around.

1st Place - £5,000
2nd Place - 5 x Amazon Echo Smart Speakers
3rd Place - 5 x Amazon Echo Dots
University - Prize awarded to the best performing University team
All winning teams will also get the opportunity to pitch their idea for further investment!

Coding Workshops
Athena are delighted Makers have joined us as an event partner to provide a series of coding workshops to our attendees!
