Atlantic Lottery Hackathon.005: eSports Real Money Gaming

The roar of the stadium crowd. The giant screens. The teams of professionals battling for the world’s biggest stakes in your favourite games. It’s no surprise that eSports has grown to become one of the world’s biggest phenomenons. Not everyone gets it – but you do. And so do we.

Can you come up with an innovative, creative idea for real money gaming or lottery in the world of eSports? We want to see it!

Volta Labs and Atlantic Lottery will host Atlantic Lottery Hackathon.005 from Friday, September 29 to Sunday, October 1, 2017. This will be a 48-hour, free hackathon starting at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, with presentations and judging at 3:00pm on Sunday. The weekend will be full of intense hacking, learning and Red Bull-drinking. Not to mention $4000 in prizes!

The Prizes:

• First prize: $2,000 (!!!)

• Second prize: $1250

• Third prize: $750

The Theme: eSports Real Money Gaming:

In this hackathon, your challenge is to create fun, fresh ideas for lottery or other real money gaming in eSports. This could mean betting on matches, some kind of single player lottery mechanic or something else entirely.

Judging:

Projects will be judged on presentation, creativity and, of course, the tech made during the event!

Teams/Participants:

You can go solo, or work with a team.

Maximum of 5 members per team. Please register your team together.

Note: This event is 19+.

Schedule:

Friday, Sep 29: Doors open at 5 p.m. to eat pizza, have some refreshments and meet and mingle with your fellow hackers. The hackathon will kick off at 6pm.

Saturday, Sep 30: The hacking continues! We’ll have trivia and mini-prizes during the day (as well as the ever-popular foosball tournament!)

Sunday, Oct 1: Presentations and judging will be from 3pm-5pm followed by award presentation!

What's the food situation?

Food and drinks will be provided throughout the weekend, including pizza, pop, snacks, coffee, Redbull - all the fuel you’ll need!
