Atlantic Lottery Hackathon.002: Smart Home Revolution

48 hours. Three winners. What will be the impact of the Smart Home Revolution on lottery and gaming?

Volta Labs and Atlantic Lottery will host Atlantic Lottery Hackathon.002: Smart Home Revolution from Friday, February 24 to Sunday, February 26. This will be a 48-hour, free hackathon starting at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, with presentations and judging at 3:00pm on Sunday. The weekend will be full of intense hacking, learning and Redbull-drinking.

The Prizes:

First prize: $2,000 (!!!)
Second prize: $1250
Third prize: $850

The Theme: Smart Home Revolution 

The Smart Home Revolution is here, and it’s changing the way we interact with our buildings, appliances and devices where we live and work. We’re talking to our speakers and getting the weather on our fridge. How will this impact the world of lottery games? 

Examples of prize-worthy hacks 

Toaster lottery (What is this? We don’t know – You tell us!),
A smart fridge app that lets you play games of chance based on the products you buy,
An Alexa app that speaks your lottery results to you.

Teams/Participants

Most hackers choose a small team at the beginning of the hackathon to work with. You can also work with multiple teams, or go solo. Pre-arranged teams are also a-okay!

Judging

The weekend-long hackathon will be judged on presentation, creativity and, of course, the tech made during the event by three judges.

What's the food situation?

Food and drinks will be provided throughout the weekend, including pizza, pop, snacks, coffee, Redbull - all the fuel you’ll need!
