AVRN Presents; Western Australia's First Virtual Reality Hackathon

WA's most exciting Hackathon of the year has arrived! Join us for a weekend to make history as we host Western Australia's first virtual reality hackathon. AVRN's VR Hackathon is a 51-hour hackathon event dedicated to both developing entertainment based experiences as well as applying VR to solve industry challenges.

Across the weekend, participants will work with leading entrepreneurs and mentors from the VR as well as startup community in Perth to produce an innovative solution to one of their challenges. To win the hackathon, it is imperative that you bring the most innovative, creative, and applicable ideas to the table. You don't have to be the most experienced developer, or have the best headset, to win.

The types of challenges will be focused prodominantly on entertainment and industry . Therefore you will be dealing with sensors, devices and remotes on mining sites and hacking away at new ideas.

Each participant will be required to bring their own laptops and are encouraged to bring their own headsets. AVRN will be providing HTC Vive, Oculus Rift, and GearVR headsets to share during testing periods. To consistently have access to a headset, it is encouraged to bring even just a Google Cardboard headset.

Not a developer? No worries, you're welcome to participate if you're keen on the latest tech trends and the opportunity to experience and contribute to projects running on the Google Cardboard, HTC Vive, Oculus Rift and Samsung Gear VR headset.

More details to be released soon!
