Bellevue MakerSpace Hackathon

Come join us at the Bellevue MakerSpace on September 17th!

At this event we'll be providing space for current high school and college students to work on whatever cool programming projects they may have in mind!


Schedule:

  • 1:30PM: Doors open!

  • 2:00PM: Informational Presentation (attendance optional, but recommended!)

  • 3:15PM: Snack

  • 6:15PM: Dinner

  • 8:30PM: More snacks! 

  • 9:30PM: Presentations (attendance optional, but we do recommend that you show off your cool project!)
  • 10:00PM: Clean Up!

We have a lenient schedule, but we recommend that everyone is on their way home at a reasonable time.


Important Information:

  1. Please bring a parent along (if you're under 18, in order to sign a photo/video release form; or simply sign it in advance by downloading the form using one of the links below!)

  2. If you've RSVP'd, please make sure to bring $10 (per attendee) to pay at the door, and please have a copy of the ticket if possible.

  3. Please let us know if you have any allergies so we can make sure to have something for you during dinner.
  4. As noted in the FAQ, please make sure to bring some form of student ID in order to verify that you are indeed a student.
  5. No prizes will be offered this time around, but anyone who presents will recieve a Bellevue MakerSpace sticker!

  6. All proceeds will go to purchasing food and snacks for this event, as well organizing future events at the MakerSpace.

Rules:

  1. Be courteous to everyone, including hosts, advisors and mentors.

  2. No inappropriate behavior (nothing you wouldn't do in public!)

  3. Stay within the area of the hackathon. This means no leaving the church without explicit permission from an organizer or advisor.
  4. Please refrain from disturbing other ongoing activities within the church.
  5. Avoid playing video games, so everyone can have decent WiFi speeds.

  6. Don't be too loud, as people need sweet sweet silence to concentrate on making great things.

  7. Don't be afraid to offer help, or ask for help!

 

FAQs:

Are there ID requirements or an age limit to enter the event?

Yes, you must present to us a valid high school or college student ID. Anyone who isn't a mentor or isn't in high school/college will unfortunately be turned away at the door.

What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?

Plenty of parking space will be available for free!

What do I do if I don't want my picture taken at all?

What can/can't I bring to the event?

You CANNOT bring:

  • Weapons,
  • Firearms,
  • Explosives,
  • Fireworks,
  • Drugs/Drug paraphernalia
  • Tobacco,
  • Alcohol

You CAN/SHOULD bring: 

  • Yourself, ofcourse!
  • A laptop (laptops are preferred, but desktops are OK; 1-2 monitor limit)
  • Some form of student ID
  • A blanket, sweater, hoodie, etc. (it may get a little chilly in the evening)
  • All necessary charging cables
  • A good attitude
  • An idea regarding what you'd like to work on
