ATHENS CHATBOT HACKATHON
We gather in cities around the world to build applications utilizing chat, messaging, or other natural language interfaces (i.e. voice) to interact with people, brands, or services and bots in the conversational commerce space.

WHAT TO BUILD
2016 will be the year of conversational commerce.
By year's end, it will be normal talking to brands and companies over Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp, Telegram, Slack, and elsewhere as we move to the conversational paradigm

What can I do with bots?
To name just a few things, you could use bots to:

- Integrate with other services. A bot could potentially post comments remotely or control a smart home. It could also send users notifications when something happens somewhere. (Examples: GitHub Bot, Image Bot).
- Create custom tools. A bot may provide you with alerts, weather forecasts, translations, or other services upon request. (Example: Poll bot).
- Build single- and multiplayer games. A bot can play chess and checkers against you, act as host in quiz games, or even take up the dungeon master's dice for an RPG. (Example: Trivia bot).
- Build social services. A bot could connect people looking for conversation partners based on common interests or proximity. (Example: Tinder-like HotOrBot).
- Do virtually anything else. Except for dishes — bots are terrible at doing the dishes.

WHAT DOES MY TICKET GET ME?
Hackathons cost a bit of money to put on. We use your ticket money to pay for any venue fees, catering, coffee and drinks, a t-shirt and schwag as well as a lot of chocolate. We promise to keep our ticket prices affordable and we promise to provide value. If you're a student or are unemployed, you can come for free, just use the discount code (STUDENT or JOBSEEKER) when booking your ticket. If you feel the price is too high fire us an email at info@bitsandbots.tech telling us and we'll probably let you come for free, you'll probably want to pay afterwards! If you want to volunteer, then we'll give you a free ticket for a friend too! Just send us an email.
